Surveyors Examination
The New Zealand Acts and Regulations written examination will be held on Friday, 18 November 1988 at 9 a.m.
Applications, on the proper form together with the prescribed fee must reach the secretary of the board before 1 November 1988.
Application forms and information about the board’s requirements should be obtained from the undersigned.
The prescribed fee for the examination is $33 incl. GST.

Broadcasting Act 1976
Fourth Direction to Broadcasting Tribunal in Connection With Private Television Broadcasting
To the Broadcasting Tribunal.
Pursuant to section 68 (1) of the Broadcasting Act 1976, I, Richard William Prebble, the Minister of Broadcasting—
(1) Give you notice that it is part of the general policy of the New Zealand Government in relation to broadcasting—
(a) That the Broadcasting Act 1976 be reviewed with a view to reducing the restrictions on broadcasters; and
(b) That it is undesirable that broadcasters be required in future to be subject to the restrictions specified in subclauses (u) and (v) of clause 2 of the Third Direction to the Broadcasting Tribunal in Connection With Private Television Broadcasting dated the 15th day of November 1984 as conditions of their warrants; and
(2) Give you notice that in pursuance of the general policy of the Government subclauses (u) and (v) of clause 2 of the Third Direction to the Broadcasting Tribunal in Connection With Private Television Broadcasting dated the 15th day of November 1984 which read:
“(2) (u) That, in accordance with recommendation 5.20 in your report, but subject to paragraph (w) of this clause, the Post Office or the Broadcasting Corporation of New Zealand or both provide, on a commercially competitive basis, the programme distribution systems of private television stations both within regions and between regions; and
(v) That, notwithstanding recommendation 5.21 in your report, warrant holders in respect of private television stations be not permitted to establish their own programme distribution systems within regions or between regions; and”
are hereby revoked; and
(3) In pursuance of the general policy of the Government, as outlined in clause (1), direct that you shall—
(a) In issuing warrants for Private Television Broadcasting note that subclauses (u) and (v) of clause 2 of the Third Direction to the Broadcasting Tribunal in Connection With Private Television Broadcasting dated the 15th day of November 1984 have been revoked; and
(b) Ensure that warrants issued for Private Television Broadcasting do not contain the restrictions embodied in those clauses.

Sale of Auckland Harbour Board Land
I, William Patrick Jeffries, Minister of Transport, having obtained the concurrence of the Minister of Finance, pursuant to section 143A (3) of the Harbours Act 1950, hereby approve pursuant to section 143A (1) (a) and section 143C (1) (b) (i) of the Act, the sale of land referred to in the Schedule below by the Auckland Harbour Board; and I specify that my approval is effective from the date of this notice.
Schedule
All that parcel of land containing 9.4482 hectares (9.4482 ha), more or less, situate in the Borough of Onehunga and being part of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 9B, folio 1172 (North Auckland Registry), and being all of the land marked “C” on plan M.D. 16505 (S.O. 56386), deposited in the office of the Secretary for Transport at Wellington.

to be a member of the appeal board set up in connection with an appeal by Captain R. J. Barnes against the appointment of Captain B. J. Perkins to the position of Tugmaster of the Taranaki Harbours Board, and also the dismissal of Captain Barnes from the employ of the Taranaki Harbours Board.
