Customs Import Prohibition (Chlorofluorocarbons) Order 1988

The Customs Import Prohibition (Chlorofluorocarbons) Order 1988

Since 1 July 1988, to give effect to New Zealand’s obligations under the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer, the importation of substances specified in the Customs Import Prohibition (Chlorofluorocarbons) Order have been prohibited except with the consent of the Minister of Trade and Industry and subject to such conditions as he thinks fit. Applicants for consent to import chlorofluorocarbons may be made to the Department of Trade and Industry.

To provide for a transition to the new regime, I hereby give my consent for the prohibited substances specified in the Customs Import Prohibition (Chlorofluorocarbons) Order 1988 to be imported into New Zealand until 28 September 1988, on the condition that information with respect to sales and usage of chlorofluorocarbons is supplied to the Department of Trade and Industry before that date, on the forms provided by the department for that purpose.

Traffic Regulations 1976

LPG Fuel System Approval

Pursuant to regulation 90B of the Traffic Regulations 1976* (as inserted by the Traffic Regulations 1976, Amendment No. 7) and pursuant to the powers delegated to me by the Secretary for Transport, I, Hugh Cameron Matheson, Senior Automotive Engineer, hereby approve the components listed in the First Schedule hereto for inclusion only in the LPG fuel system of the vehicle listed in the Second Schedule hereto which in all other respects are installed and operated in accordance with the requirements of New Zealand Standard NZS 5422, Part 1, 1987 (and any standard made in amendment thereto or in substitution therefore) subject to the conditions (if any) set out in respect of any component in the said Schedule.

First Schedule

LPG fuel system and components with the LPG container having the following markings:

Sleegers Engineering Inc.
Serial [6110-46]
Cap. [122L]
Year [1–87]

Second Schedule

Details of the vehicle are as follows:

1979 Ford Econoline Van, Registration No. NN 1189, Chassis/Engine No. E14 HBE 66732.

This approval expires on 1 January 2002.

Approval of Motorcycle Safety Helmets

Pursuant to subclause (1) of regulation 88 of the Traffic Regulations 1976 and pursuant to powers delegated to me by the Secretary for Transport by an instrument of delegation dated the 3rd day of August 1987, motorcycle safety helmets of the make and type described in the Schedule hereto are hereby approved for the purposes of regulation 31 of the said regulations.

Schedule

Safety helmets manufactured by Cross SA/Belgium, bearing the model designations MX-3 and VS-1 and bearing the certification mark of the Standards Association of Australia AS 1698.
