Departure of the Governor-General Overseas and Assumption of Office by the Administrator of the Government
His Excellency the Governor-General, the Most Reverend Sir Paul Reeves, G.C.M.G., G.C.V.O., accompanied by Her Excellency Lady Reeves and with members of the Household in attendance, departed from Auckland at 11.45 a.m. on Wednesday, 13 July for an official visit to Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
Following the departure of His Excellency, the Chief Justice of New Zealand, the Right Honourable Sir Ronald Davison, G.B.E., C.M.G., has assumed the office of the Administrator of the Government in accordance with clause XII of the Letters Patent constituting the office of Governor-General.

Animals Act 1967
Notice to Set Apart and Define a Quarantine Ground at Lincoln (No. 4431; Ag. 6/4/3/0/1)
Notice is hereby given that pursuant to section 11 (1) of the Animals Act 1967, that land and premises comprising 38.2769 hectares, being the DSIR Insect Quarantine Building situated at Canterbury Agriculture and Science Centre, Lincoln, being part Rural Sections 3217 and 3185, part Lots 4 and 7, D.P. 1788 and parts Lot 1, D.P. 6070, situated in Blocks I and II, Halswell Survey District, being the balance of the land comprised and described in the New Zealand Gazette, 1955, page 921, Proc. 420089 is declared to be a quarantine ground for the detention of imported animals.

Notice to Set Apart and Define a Quarantine Ground at Mount Albert City (No. 4432; Ag. 6/4/3/0/1)
Notice is hereby given that pursuant to section 11 (1) of the Animals Act 1967, that land and premises comprising 1.2479 hectares, more or less, being the DSIR Insect Quarantine Building situated at Mount Albert Research Centre, Auckland, being part Lot 2, D.P. 44313, situated in Block IV, Titirangi Survey District. Part Gazette notice 19778 (New Zealand Gazette, 1963, page 691) is hereby declared to be a quarantine ground for the detention of imported animals.

Notice is hereby given by direction of the Minister of Agriculture pursuant to sections 12 and 14 of the Pesticides Act 1979. His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint
Dr Graeme Wesley Butler, retired Director-General of Wellington (on the nomination of the Minister of Science)
as a member of the Pesticides Board for the residue of the term of office for Dr J. M. Hoy, deceased, due to finish on 17 August 1988.
