Waimarino District Boundary Definition Notice 1988

Pursuant to section 48 of the Local Government Act 1974, the Secretary for Local Government gives the following notice:

Notice

1. This notice may be cited as the Waimarino District Boundary Definition Notice 1988.

2. The boundary of Waimarino District is hereby defined as set out in the Schedule hereto, that boundary having been established by the Ohakune Borough Raetihi Borough Waimarino County Union Order 1987, which was published in the New Zealand Gazette, 14 January 1988, No. 2, page 14, and which came into force on 1 April 1988.

All that area in the Wellington Land District containing 2159 square kilometres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Whanganui River in line with the northern boundary of Block I, Whirinaki Survey District, and proceeding generally easterly to and along that boundary and the northern boundaries of Blocks II, III and IV, Whirinaki Survey District and the production of that boundary to the middle of Mangaora Road; thence north-westerly along the middle of that road to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Section 4, Block XIII, Kaieke Survey District; thence north-easterly and south-easterly to and along the north-western and north-eastern boundaries of the last-mentioned section and Section 5, Block I, Manganui Survey District and its production to the middle of Kokako Road; thence generally north-easterly along the middle of that road to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 4, Block I, Manganui Survey District; thence generally south-easterly to and along that boundary and southerly along the eastern boundary of the said Section 4 and its production to the middle of Erua Road; thence south and westerly along the middle of that road to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 2, Block I, Manganui Survey District; thence generally south-easterly to and along that boundary, the north-western boundary of Section 4, Block II, Manganui Survey District, and the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 6 and 7, Block V, Manganui Survey District and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of Makino Road; thence south-easterly along the middle of that road to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 3, Block VI, Manganui Survey District; thence south-easterly and north-easterly to and along that boundary and the south-eastern boundary of Section 7, Block VI aforesaid to the north-eastern corner of Section 10, Block X, Manganui Survey District; thence south-easterly along the north-eastern boundary of the said Section 10 and the production of that boundary to the middle of Manganui-A-Te-Ao Road; thence south-westerly along the middle of that road to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 24, Block XI, Manganui Survey District; thence easterly to and along that boundary and its production to the middle of the Manganuiateao River; thence easterly up the middle of that river to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Lot 2 of Section 18 (underlying), S.O. 16446 in Block IX, Ruapehu Survey District; thence northerly to and along that boundary, the eastern boundary of Lot 2 of 13 (underlying), S.O. 16446 and the production of that boundary to a point in the middle of the Makatote River; thence easterly up the middle of that river to its source and along a right line to Trig. Station I Te Kotahu in Block VI, Ruapehu Survey District; thence south-westerly along the north-eastern boundary of Waimarino 1 to Trig. Station N Ruapehu in Block XI, Ruapehu Survey District; thence easterly along a right line in the direction of Trig. Station XXVIII Manukaipapa in Block XVI, Kaimanawa Survey District to its intersection with the western side of State Highway 1; thence southerly along that highway side to its intersection with the northern boundary of Section 9, Block IX, Moawhango Survey District; thence westerly along that boundary and its production across State Highway 49 and the North Island Main Trunk Railway to and along the northern boundary of Section 10, Block IX aforesaid to the north-eastern corner of that section; thence southerly and easterly along the western boundaries of Sections 10, 16 and 12, Block IX aforesaid, S.O. 18831, and the southern boundary of the said Section 12, to its intersection with the western side of the North Island Main Trunk Railway; thence generally southerly along the generally western boundaries of the said railway and State Highway 1 (as defined on S.O. 21312) to the northern boundary of Raketapauma 112B in Block XIII, Moawhango Survey District; thence westerly along that boundary and the northern boundaries of Raketapauma 112A, 1G, and 1A2, Section 9, Block III, Mangaore Survey District, and Raketapauma 3A2 and the production of that boundary to the middle of the Turakina River; thence generally southerly down the middle of that river to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 4, Block II, Mangaonoho Survey District; thence westerly to and along that boundary, a right line across Turakina Valley Road to and along the northern boundaries of Sections 3, 2, and 1, Block II aforesaid, the northern boundaries of Sections 4, 3, and 2, Block I, Mangaonoho Survey District, a right line across Otara Road to and along the northern boundary of Section 1, Block I aforesaid to the north-west corner of that section; thence southerly along the western boundary of the last-mentioned section to a point in line with the northern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 15716; thence westerly to and along that boundary and the northern boundaries of Sections 7 and 6, Block IV, Ngamatea Survey District and a right line across Owhakura Road to and along the northern boundary of Section 8, Block IV aforesaid, along a right line across Whangaehu Valley Road to and along the northern boundary of Section 1, Block IV aforesaid and the production of that boundary to a point in the middle of the Whangaehu River; thence generally southerly down the middle of that river to a point in line with the generally north-eastern boundary of Ohotu 6A1B in Block VIII, Ngamatea Survey District; thence generally north-westerly and south-westerly to and along that boundary and the generally north-western boundary of Ohotu 6A1B and along the north-western boundaries of Lots 6 and 1, D.P. 27919 to the easternmost corner of Lot 2, D.P. 4978; thence generally westerly along the northern boundaries of the said Lot 2 and Lot 1, D.P. 4978 and south-easterly along the south-western boundary of that lot and its production to the middle of the Araki Stream; thence south-westerly down the middle of that stream to a point in the middle of the Mangawehero River; thence generally south-easterly down the middle of that river to a point in line with the southern boundary of Ohutu 9, in Block X, Ngamatea Survey District; thence westerly and north-westerly to and along that boundary and the southern boundary of Lot 3, D.P. 29354 and along the north-eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 29350 and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Matahiwi Track; thence generally south-westerly along the middle of that track to a point in line with the western boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 29348 in Block VIII, Tauakira Survey District; thence northerly to and along that boundary and its production to the southern boundary of Morikauhunu Block; thence generally easterly, northerly, and westerly along that boundary and the eastern and northern boundaries of the said block to the intersection with the north-western boundary of Mairehau 2 (M.L. 4985); thence generally north-easterly along that boundary and the northern boundary of Mairehau 2 to the southernmost corner of Lot 4, D.P. 29363 in Block XV, Rarete Survey District; thence northerly along the western boundary of the last-mentioned lot and the production of that boundary to the middle of the Matipo Stream; thence generally north-westerly down the middle of that stream and the Mangoihe Stream to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Lot 4, D.P. 29340 in Block XV, Rarete Survey
