STEPHEN IAN HARRIS, Taxicab Service licensee of 7 Osmond Street, Glen Eden take notice that the Auckland Transport District Licensing Authority (J. M. Foster), is to conduct an inquiry pursuant to section 140 (1) (a) and (b) of the Transport Act 1962 to determine whether: (a) owing to changed circumstances you no longer meet the criteria set out in section 124 of the Act; and (b) you have failed to comply with any term or condition of Continuous Taxicab Service Licence 12282.

The inquiry will be held in the Conference Room, Ministry of Transport, Ninth Floor, Customhouse Building, Quay Street, Auckland on Monday, 27 April 1987 commencing at 10 a.m.

Commerce Act 1986, Merger or Takeover Proposal

NOTICE is hereby given of the following determination by the Commerce Commission pursuant to section 66 (6) of the Commerce Act 1986.

Decision No. 190 (Ref. AUT/MT-G7/1)

On 19 March 1987 the Commerce Commission determined to give a clearance to a proposal that Goodyear New Zealand Ltd. may acquire from Dunlop New Zealand Ltd. ordinary shares which carry the right to exercise or control the exercise of 50 percent of the voting power of any general meeting of Dunlop New Zealand Ltd.

The full text of the determination is available for inspection at the Commission’s offices in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. Copies may also be purchased on application to the Commission (P.O. Box 10-273, Wellington).

Commerce Act 1986, Merger or Takeover Proposal

NOTICE is hereby given of the following determination by the Commerce Commission pursuant to section 66 (6) of the Commerce Act 1986.

On 19 March 1987 the Commerce Commission determined to give a clearance to a proposal that Dunlop New Zealand Ltd. may acquire the whole of assets employed in connection with the tyre business in New Zealand of Goodyear New Zealand Ltd.

Notice to Set Apart and Define a Special Quarantine Ground: Awahuri (No. 4016; Ag. 6/4/3/0/1)

NOTICE is hereby given that pursuant to section 11A (1) of the Animals Act 1967 the land and premises of the New Zealand Dairy Board, situated at Green Road, Awahuri, comprising Lot 1 and 2, D.P. 5349, part of Lot 3 and 4, D.P. 1417, Blocks IV, Kairanga SD, is declared to be a special quarantine ground for the detention of imported animals.

Fixing Rate of Kiwifruit Levy 1987–88 (Notice 4017; No. Ag. 4/54/10/1)

PURSUANT to regulation 18 of the Kiwifruit Marketing Licensing Regulations 1977, and as I have received a recommendation from the New Zealand Kiwifruit Authority; I hereby give notice that:

(a) The rate of Kiwifruit levy for the year ended 31 March 1988 shall be 67c in respect of each tray of Kiwifruit exported.

(b) The full amount of the levy shall be due and payable to the authority by the exporter when the tray is exported but the exporter may recover from the producer an amount not exceeding 44.67c per tray.

Notice to Make Returns of Land Under the Land Tax Act 1976

PURSUANT to the Land Tax Act 1976, the Commissioner of Inland Revenue hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. A return of land held as at noon on 31 March 1987 is required from every person and every company, whether a taxpayer or not, being the owner of land in New Zealand within the meaning of the Land Tax Act 1976, if the total land value of land owned as at noon on 31 March 1987 exceeded $175,000 and the land is not any of the classes specified in section 27 of the Land Tax Act 1976.

  2. The principal classes of land exempted from land tax under section 27 of the Land Tax Act 1976 are:

(a) Land used as the site of the landowner’s residence which is occupied as the principal place of abode of the landowner;

(b) Land used solely or principally for the purposes of any business of:

(i) Animal husbandry (including poultry-keeping, bee-keeping, and the breeding of horses); or

(ii) Growing fruit, vegetables, or other crop-producing plants; or

(iii) Horticulture; or

(vi) Viticulture; or

(v) Forestry or silviculture.
  1. Land tax is dealt with by the Masterton office of the department, and returns shall be sent there or to any district office of the Inland Revenue Department, not later than 7 May 1987.

  2. Return forms are available at all district offices of the Inland Revenue Department.

  3. Any person or company failing to furnish a return within the prescribed time commits an offence. Section 58 of the Land Tax Act 1976, provides for a fine of not more than $2,000 for the first such offence, $4,000 for the second such offence and $6,000 for each subsequent offence.
