The Standards Act 1965—Draft New Zealand Standard Specifications Available for Comment

PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the following draft New Zealand standard specifications are being circulated.

Number and Title of Specification

DZ 6109 Electrical systems of dispensing equipment for explosive atmospheres

This draft Standard specifies requirements for electrical systems of dispensing equipment for flammable liquids and liquefied petroleum gas and for the electrical components which may be used inside the housing of such equipment. Account is taken of the mechanical and hydraulic equipment. Part I is based on Australian Standard 2229, Part 1—1982 and Part 2 on AS 2229, Part 2—1979. Both incorporate New Zealand amendments to ensure suitability for New Zealand conditions.

The drafts prescribe requirements in respect of design, construction, marking and testing, and the tests specified are intended to prove a particular design for compliance with this Standard.

The final Standards are intended for the guidance of manufacturers, users, statutory authorities and associated interests and for use 'in association with the New Zealand Electrical Wiring Regulations 1976 and the Dangerous Goods Regulations (Class 2—Gases) 1980 and (Class 3—Flammable Liquids) 1985.

Part I Flammable liquids dispensing equipment. $5.94 (incl. $0.54 GST)

Part 2 Liquefied petroleum gas dispensing equipment. $3.96 (incl. $0.36 GST)

NOTE—Equipment complying with Part 2 will be suitable for use in vehicle refuelling stations.

All persons who may be affected by these publications and who desire to comment thereon, may obtain copies at the price shown, from the Standards Association of New Zealand, Wellington Trade Centre, 181-187 Victoria Street (or Private Bag), Wellington.

NOTE—Payment must accompany all requests for drafts.

The closing date for the receipt of comment is 7 May 1987.
