  • Area B1: All that area east of State Highway No. 1 excluding the floodbed of the Waitaki River.
  • Area C: The floodbed of the Waitaki River from the Waitaki Dam to the sea.
  • Area D: All that area west of the Waitaki Dam.

  • Grey, shoveler and mallard duck aggregate limits, 20 in all

Shooting hours: 7 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. except that during the period 29 June 1987 to 26 April 1988 incl. Canada goose may be hunted or killed 24 hours per day during the specified open season.

Decoy limit: Wainono Lagoon, 25; rest of district, no limit.

Special Conditions

  1. No person shall use or cause to be used for the hunting or killing of game within the district, any fixed stand, pontoon, hide or maimai, except within a distance of 10 metres from the water margin in non-tidal waters, or from the low water mark in tidal waters, or from the outside edge of the raupo growth where raupo abounds.

  2. It shall be an offence for any person to leave on the hunting ground the bodies or parts of bodies of black swan or other game shot in the Otago Acclimatisation District.

  3. Shooting from a boat is prohibited on the Mataura River and Clutha River from 2 May to 31 May 1987 inclusive.

  • Area A: the Maniototo County.
  • Area B: All that part of the Taieri River catchment upstream from Hindon outside area A; all that part of the Shag River catchment above Dunback; that part of the Manuberikia River catchment outside area A; that part of the Clutha River catchment east of the Clutha River from Cromwell Gorge to Beaumont; and the Waikouaiti catchment upstream from Bucklands Crossing.
  • Area C: The Waikaia River catchment; the Pomahaka River catchment upstream from Conical Hills; the Waipori River catchment upstream from Waipori Falls township; that part of the Clutha River catchment to the west of the Clutha River from Cromwell Gorge to Beaumont; and the Waikaia River catchment upstream from Mataura.
  • Area D: All that area between the Mataura and Clutha Rivers south of State Highway 1.
