Draft New Zealand Standard Specification Available for Comment
Pursuant to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the following draft New Zealand standard specification is being circulated.

This draft Standard Code of Practice is the proposed revision of NZS 5433:1983. The code sets out requirements for the safe transport of hazardous substances on land. It does not specifically cover requirements for the transport of hazardous substances by air and sea but is designed to be compatible with the mandatory requirements for air and sea modes.
Covered are: Classification of hazardous substances, labelling and marking requirements of packages, containers and vehicles, packaging of hazardous substances, carriage in bulk of liquids and liquified gases, stowage and compatibilities, documentation and transport procedures. Also included are lists of: hazardous substances, percentages of active substances in pesticides, glossary of packagings, and responsibilities of the various parties in the transport chain.
Miscellaneous Publication Adopted
Pursuant to section 17 of the Standards Act 1965, the Standards Council, on 28 August 1987, approved the issue of the under-mentioned miscellaneous publication.
