Draft New Zealand Standard Specification Available for Comment

Pursuant to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act, 1965 notice is hereby given that the following draft amendment is being circulated.

Number and Title of Specification

Electrical installations in caravans and caravan park areas. Gratis

This draft code contains the requirements for the wiring of electrical installations in caravans and caravan park areas as contained in the present Electrical Wiring Regulations 1976 and introduces some new provisions intended to enhance the electrical safety of those installations.

Amongst new requirements is the progressive replacement of all existing plugs and sockets made to NZS 1989 with 3 pin plugs which incorporate a positive earth contact (those made to IEC 309-2 or BS 4343).

All persons who may be affected by this publication and who desire to comment thereon may obtain copies from the Standards Association of New Zealand, Wellington Trade Centre, 181-187 Victoria Street (or Private Bag), Wellington.

Note—Payment must accompany all requests for drafts.

The closing date for receipt of comment is 31 December 1987.

This draft amendment will place on record the declaration of BS 5617:1985 as a New Zealand Standard with New Zealand amendments.
