Draft New Zealand Standard Specification Available for Comment

Pursuant to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the following draft New Zealand standard specification is being circulated.

Number and Title of Specification

DZ 4617 Tempering valves (3-port mixing valves). $7.48 (incl. GST)

This draft covers the specification for tempering valves for storage hot water systems. These valves are intended for use in locations where hot water poses a hazard, for example schools, motels and residential premises where to prevent scalding, all hot water outlets should be sourced from a tempering valve. The draft Standard provides for valves with water inlet temperatures of up to 100°C.

Draft New Zealand Standard Specification Available for Comment

Pursuant to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the following draft New Zealand standard specification is being circulated.

Number and Title of Specification

DZ 3402 Hot rolled steel bars for the reinforcement of concrete. $7.48 (incl. GST)

This draft is the proposed replacement for NZS 3402P:1973 specifying requirements for plain or deformed round hot rolled steel concrete reinforcing bars or coil. The draft reflects the move away from minimum-yield strengths basis to a statistical Characteristic Strength basis.

A high yield Grade 430 with improved weldability, ductility and lower strain hardening rate properties replaces the previous Grade 380. A performance requirement introduces an alternative for the Standard deformation pattern.
