Appointments, Promotions, Extensions, Transfers, Resignations, and Retirements of Officers of the New Zealand Army

Pursuant to section 35 of the Defence Act 1971, His Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Army.

REGULAR FORCE

Brigadiers’ List

Brigadier Evan John Torrance, O.B.E., is transferred to the Army Reserve, General List of Officers, in his present rank with effect from 12 September 1987.

Colonels’ List

Colonel G. D. Birch, M.B.E., to be acting Brigadier with effect from 3 September 1987, and Brigadier with seniority and effect from 12 September 1987.

Colonel Peter Gibson Hotop, M.B.E., is posted to the Retired List with effect from 27 August 1987.

Royal Regiment of N.Z. Artillery

Lieutenant Colonel David Graeme Moston Lough is transferred to the Army Reserve, General List of Officers, in his present rank with effect from 19 August 1987.

Major A. R. McLeod, B.A.(MIL.), to be temp. Lieutenant Colonel with effect from 10 August 1987, and re-engaged until 8 June 1996.
