The Commissioner's audit and investigation will have regard to the Environment Act 1986, and will be referred to the Minister of Energy as well as being presented to the House of Representatives. It will be published on or about 1 March 1988.

I invite you to make written submissions to the Commissioner on the environmental implications of the proposal as described in the Report. Submissions should be addressed to:

Approval of Persons Authorised to Perform Vaccinations Against Tuberculosis

PURSUANT to regulation 6 (4) of the Tuberculosis Regulations 1951, the Director-General of Health hereby gives notice that the following persons, additional to those contained in the Gazette, dated 2 July 1987, No. 101, page 3028, have been approved as qualified to perform vaccinations against tuberculosis in accordance with those regulations.

Notice of Application for Approval of a Scheme Under Part III of the Charitable Trusts Act 1957

Notice is hereby given that the Public Trustee as trustee of the will of Norman James Cox, deceased, has filed in the office of the High Court at Rotorua an application for the approval of a scheme to vary the provisions relating to the William Lomis Cox Memorial Scholarships. These scholarships were established under the deceased’s will and were varied by an earlier scheme approved in 1964. The proposed scheme will:

(1) Vary the eligibility criteria for those persons applying for scholarships.
(2) Vary the membership of the Scholarship Committee.
(3) Make minor related changes.

Copies of the scheme and of the report of the Attorney-General thereon may be inspected, free of charge, at the office of the Registrar of the High Court at Rotorua, or at the Public Trust Office at Gisborne Court, Hinemoa Street, Rotorua or at the Public Trust Office at the National Bank Building, The Strand Extension, Whakatane. The application has been set down for hearing in the High Court at Rotorua on 14 December 1987. Any person desiring to oppose the scheme is hereby required to give written notice of his or her intention to do so to the Registrar of the High Court at Rotorua, and to the Public Trust Office at Rotorua or Whakatane, and to the Attorney-General not less than 7 clear days before that date.

Approval of Motorcycle Safety Helmets in Terms of the Traffic Regulations 1976

PURSUANT to subclause (1) of regulation 88 of the Traffic Regulations 1976 and pursuant to powers delegated to me by the Secretary for Transport by an instrument of delegation dated the 3rd day of August 1987, motorcycle safety helmets of the make and type described in the Schedule hereto are hereby approved for the purposes of regulation 31 of the said regulations.

SCHEDULE

Safety helmets manufactured by Thetford Moulded Products Ltd., bearing the model designation Pilot XT, and bearing the certification mark of the British Standards Institute. BS 6658.

The Road Classification (Rotorua District) Notice No. 1, 1987

PURSUANT to regulation 3 (8) of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1974 and a delegation from the Secretary for Transport, I, CARME MAURICE CLISSOLD, Chief Traffic Engineer, give the following notice:

  1. This notice may be cited as the Road Classification (Rotorua District) Notice No. 1, 1987.

  2. The Rotorua District Council’s proposed classification of the roads as set out in the Schedule is approved.

  3. So much of the Road Classification (Rotorua District) Notice No. 1, 1981, dated the 16th day of July 1981, issued pursuant to regulation 3 of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1974, which relates to the roads described in the Schedule, is revoked.

SCHEDULE

Rotorua District

Roads Classified in Class One

Ash Pit Road: from Yankee Road, generally, along Ash Pit Road to its junction with Ngamotu Road.

Broadlands Road: from the boundary of Taupo County, generally, northerly, along Broadlands Road to its end.

Ngamotu Road: from the boundary of Whakatane District, generally, westerly along Ngamotu Road to its end.

Rawhiti Road: from the boundary of Taupo County, generally, westerly along Rawhiti Road to its end.

Rerewhakaaitu Road.

Sangro Road: from Strathmore Road, generally, along Sangro Road to its junction with Rawhiti Road.

Settlers Road.

Strathmore Road: from Broadlands Road, generally, along Strathmore Road to its junction with Sangro Road.

Tutukau Road: from Waikato River, generally, easterly along Tutukau Road to its end.
