Notice of Result of Poll on Loan Proposal—Invercargill City Council

Pursuant to section 13 (2) (or section 38) of the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, notice is hereby given that a poll of electors of the City of Invercargill taken on 25 September 1987 on the proposal of the above-named local authority to raise a loan of $11,584,000 to be known as the Public Library and Retail Shopping Development Loan 1987 for the purpose of funding the construction of a new building to house the public library and a retail shopping complex in Dee Street, Invercargill, resulted as follows:

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 8700.

The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 15 485.

The number of informal votes was 110.

I therefore declare the proposal as lost.

Licensing Authority Inquiry

To: Mrs Sopo Sua (referred to below as “the licensee”).

And to: The Secretary for Transport, Wellington.

TAKE notice that pursuant to section 140 of the Transport Act 1962, the licensing authority for the Wellington Transport District will hold a public inquiry into the operation of Taxi Service Licence No. 10747.

The reason why the inquiry is to be conducted is that the Licensing Authority wishes to determine on stated grounds:

(a) Whether or not the licensee meets the criteria set out in section 124 of the Transport Act 1962; and—

(b) Whether or not the licensee has failed to comply with any term or condition of the licence.

The public inquiry will be held on Wednesday, 18 November 1987 at 2 p.m. in the Conference Room, Second Floor, Pearse House, corner Willis and Ghuznee Streets, Wellington.

The licensee and the Secretary for Transport are entitled to appear and to be heard at the public inquiry and may be represented by a lawyer or other agent. Any further information regarding the inquiry may be obtained from the undersigned.
