Amendment to Importation of Fresh Fruit and Vegetables Notice 1981—Consent Withdrawn for Importation of Fresh Whole Pineapple from New Caledonia and French Polynesia (Tahiti)

PURSUANT to section 6 of the Plants Act 1970, I hereby prohibit the importation of fresh whole pineapple from New Caledonia and French Polynesia (Tahiti) unless I am satisfied the importation will not introduce Queensland fruitfly (Dacus tryoni); a pest not known to occur in New Zealand. All imports of the above fruit shall be subject to prior approval by permit to import issued by the officer-in-charge of the Plant Protection Centre at Lynfield, Auckland.
