Amending a Declaration Acquiring Land for a Periodic Detention Centre in the Borough of Blenheim

PURSUANT to section 55 of the Public Works Act 1981, the Minister of Works and Development hereby amends the declaration dated the 4th day of March 1987 and published in the New Zealand Gazette of 12 March 1987, No. 32 at page 1135, acquiring land for a periodic detention centre by omitting the Schedule and the substituting the following Schedule.

MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT

ALL that piece of land containing 722 square metres, situated in the Borough of Blenheim, being Lot 1, D.P. 6960. All certificate of title No. 4B/450, Marlborough Land Registry.

Land Acquired, Subject to Certain Rights, for a Teacher's Residence in Block V, Waiheke Survey District, Waiheke County

PURSUANT to section 20 of the Public Works Act 1981, the Minister of Works and Development declares that, an agreement to that effect having been entered into, the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby acquired, subject to the fencing covenant contained in transfers 262065 and 469070 and to the stormwater easement in gross contained in transfer B. 639629.5, for a teacher's residence and shall vest in the Crown on the 16th day of July 1987.

Grey mouth High School Senior Technical Division Notice 1987

———

PURSUANT to section 96A of the Education Act 1964 (as inserted by section 4 of the Education Amendment Act 1977), the Minister of Education gives the following notice.

N O T I C E

  1. This notice may be cited as the Grey mouth High School Senior Technical Division Notice 1987.

  2. The Grey mouth High School Board of Governors (in this notice referred to as “the board”) is hereby authorised to offer classes or courses in the subjects specified in the Schedule to this notice, to persons who are not enrolled as students at that school.

  3. (1) In addition to the 3 persons to be appointed by the Grey mouth High School Board of Governors, the following persons shall be added to the management committee established by the board pursuant to section 96A (2) of the Education Act 1964:

(a) Two persons to be appointed by the Director-General of Education, after consultation with such persons or bodies as the Director-General of Education considers appropriate, to represent the Buller district.

(b) Two persons to be appointed by the Director-General of Education, after consultation with such persons or bodies as the Director-General of Education considers appropriate, to represent the Greymouth district.

(c) Two persons to be appointed by the Director-General of Education, after consultation with such persons or bodies as the Director-General of Education considers appropriate, to represent the Westland district.

(d) Two persons to be appointed by the Director-General of Education, after consultation with such persons or bodies as the Director-General of Education considers appropriate, to represent the South Westland district.

(e) Not more than 5 members, co-opted by the board itself, if and when it thinks fit.

(2) The districts referred to in paragraphs (a), (b), (c) and (d) of subclause (1) of this clause, shall be as defined by the Director-General of Education.

(3) The members appointed pursuant to paragraphs (a), (b), (c) and (d) of subclause (1) of this clause, shall serve as members of the management committee initially for a term of 1 year from the date of this notice. Thereafter members appointed pursuant to paragraphs (a), (b), (c) and (d) of subclause (1) of this clause shall serve as members of the management committee for a term of 3 years. Any member shall be eligible to be reappointed for a second or subsequent term. In the event of any vacancy in this category of membership, the Director-General of Education may appoint a person as a member of the management committee for the residue of the term for which the vacating member was appointed.

(4) The members (if any) co-opted by the board itself pursuant to paragraph (e) of subclause (1) of this clause, shall serve as members of the management committee for such terms, not exceeding 3 years, as the board thinks fit.
