as a member of the House of Representatives, to be a Parliamentary Under-Secretary in relation to the office of the Minister of Social Welfare.

to be a member of the Auckland Harbour Board as a representative of the electors of the Combined District comprising the Boroughs of Ellerslie, Onehunga, One Tree Hill and Mount Wellington, for the unexpired portion of the term of office of his predecessor L. E. Manning, deceased.
