  1. The licensee shall comply with the provisions of this licence, the Electricity Act 1968 and all enactments made in amendment to or substitution for that Act, any Electrical Codes of Practice made under that Act, the Electrical Supply Regulations 1984, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1976 and all regulations made in amendment of or substitution for any of those regulations.

  2. Any notice to be given to the licensee shall be sufficient if sent by registered post letter to the offices of the licensee.

  3. Any notice to be given to the Minister of Energy shall be sufficient if given in writing to or sent by registered post letter addressed to the Secretary of Energy, Ministry of Energy, Wellington.

  4. Any notice to be given on the part of the Minister of Energy shall be sufficient if given in writing signed by the Minister or by any person acting under the authority of the Minister.

  5. The licence shall not be construed as granting a consent to generate electricity pursuant to section 25 of the Electricity Act 1968.

  6. This licence shall come into force on the 1st day of April 1986 and shall continue in force for a period of 21 years from that date unless it is sooner lawfully determined in accordance with clauses 8 or 9 hereof.

  7. The Governor-General in Council may pursuant to section 22 of the Electricity Act 1968 cancel this licence if the licensee is in breach of the provisions contained in clause 2 of these conditions.

  8. This licence may be cancelled by the Minister at the request of or with the consent of the licensee.

  9. At the expiry or cancellation of this licence, the licensee shall if so required by notice in writing by the Minister remove all buildings, poles and other erections and all transmission lines, plant and other machinery and other removable equipment authorised by the licence to be erected, installed or provided and if within 12 months after being so required the licensee fails or neglects to remove the same, then the same shall, without payment of any compensation vest in and become the property of the Crown and it shall be lawful for any person authorised by the Minister in that behalf, subject to compliance with section 15A of the Electricity Act 1968 to enter upon any land or premises and take possession of and remove the same or any part thereof.

  10. Nothing contained in the licence either expressly or by implication shall be deemed to authorise the licensee to erect, construct or use any electric lines or works except subject to such conditions (not inconsistent with the conditions of this licence and the Electricity Act 1968 and regulations made thereunder) as may from time to time be lawfully imposed by any local authority within the district of which any such lines or work may be situated.

  11. The systems of supply shall be as described in paragraphs (a), (b), (c), (d), (e) and (f) of regulation 13 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1984.

  12. The licensee shall, 6 months prior to the expiry of the term of this licence provided in clause 7 herein, make written application to the Minister of Energy for the granting of a new licence.

SCHEDULE
DESCRIPTION OF LINES

  1. Within the Riccarton Borough Councils Area of Supply:

(a) Commencing at the junction of Clyde Road and Totara Street and proceeding along Totara Street to its junction with Puriri Street. The line being more particularly shown marked A–B on plan NZE 998.

(b) Commencing at the Electricity Divisions Addington substation and proceeding along Princess Street, across Clarence Street, along Foster Street, Blenheim Road, the Main North Railway and Mayfair Street to Deans Avenue. The line being more particularly shown marked C–D on plan NZE 998.

(c) Commencing at the Electricity Divisions Addington substation and proceeding along Princess Street, across Clarence Street, along Foster Street and Blenheim Road, crossing Lowe, Tyne and Pope Streets and the Main North Railway to Deans Avenue. The line being more particularly shown marked C–Q on plan NZE 998.

(d) Commencing at the Electricity Divisions Addington substation and proceeding westerly along the southern side of Princess Street to a point in line with the middle of Dalgety Street. The line being more particularly shown marked C–R on plan NZE 998.

(e) Commencing at the Electricity Divisions Addington substation and proceeding along Princess Street, Dalgety Street, Blenheim Road, Division Road, Riccarton Road and Rimu Street. The line being more particularly shown marked C–U on plan NZE 998.

(f) Commencing at the Electricity Divisions Addington substation and proceeding along Princess Street and Clarence Street to Lincoln Road. The line being more particularly shown marked C–V on plan NZE 998.

(g) Commencing at the Electricity Divisions Addington substation and proceeding across Princess Street and part Section 145 to the northern side of Blenheim Road. Thence along the northern side of the Main North Railway and the northern side of Mayfair Street to Deans Avenue. The line being more particularly shown on plan NZE 1015.

  1. Within the Heathcote County Councils Area of Supply:

(a) Commencing on the western side of Colombo Street in line with the left bank of the Heathcote River and proceeding along the said western side to the southern side of Emlea Terrace; thence easterly across Colombo Street to a waterworks pumping station in part Section 138. The line being more particularly shown marked F–G on plan NZE 998.

(b) Commencing at a point off Scruttons Road and proceeding in a south-easterly direction across the intersection of Martindales Road and the Bridle Path Road to the boundary of Heathcote County Councils Area of Supply. The line being more particularly shown marked H–J on plan NZE 998.

(c) Commencing on the eastern side of Worsleys Road and proceeding in a generally easterly direction across Dyers Pass Road to the western side of Dry Bush Road.

Commencing at the western boundary of D.P. 1460 and proceeding generally northerly across the Port Hills Road, Scruttons Road and the Main South Railway to the north-western boundary of part Rural Section 329.

The two sections of line being more particularly shown marked O–P on plan NZE 998.

(d) Commencing at the end of Ferniehurst Street and proceeding north-easterly along the northern side of near the corner of Cashmere Road and Purau Terrace. The line being more particularly shown marked S–T on plan NZE 998.

(e) Those lines associated with the Christchurch City Councils substation situated on that piece of land within the Heathcote County Councils Area of Supply over which the council has been granted an easement. The area being more particularly shown marked W on plan NZE 998.

  1. Lines within the Central Canterbury Electric Power Boards Area of Supply:

(a) Commencing at the Electricity Divisions Islington substation and proceeding generally northerly across Roberts Road, Buchanan Road and Yaldhurst Road; thence generally easterly across Ryans Road to the middle of Russley Road. The line being more particularly shown marked K–L on plan NZE 998.

(b) Commencing at the Electricity Divisions Islington substation and proceeding in a generally south-easterly direction across the Main South Railway and the Main South Road, Shands Road, the Hornby Industrial Branch Railway, Springs Road, Wilmer Road, McTeigue Road and Carrs Road to the centre of Wigram Road. The line being more particularly shown marked M–N on plan NZE 998.

The above plans being deposited in the office of the Electricity Division of the Ministry of Energy at Wellington.
