Definition of Areas

Area A:—Northern and Eastern districts: All that area of the District excluding “Area B”.

Area B:—Manawatu counties: The Counties of Horowhenua, Manawatu, Kairanga, Oroua and the Rangitikei County south of the railway line between the Turakina and Rangitikei Rivers.

Area C:—Rangitikei: That area north of Tangimoana Road, Bailey Road, Wilson Road and Mingoroa Road to Halcombe and north of the railway line from Halcombe east to Manawatu Gorge.

Area D:—Wairarapa: The Counties of Masterton, Wairarapa South and Featherston.

Area E:—Featherston County.

Area F:—Coastal Manawatu: That area west of State Highways 1 and 3 between Turakina and Waikanae Rivers including the Manawatu River (between main stopbanks) downstream from Shannon and including the Moutoa Floodway.

Area A:—High country; Kaikoura County; the Acheron River watershed, the Awatere River watershed upstream of the junction of Grey and Awatere Rivers; the Waihopai River watershed upstream of the Power House on the Waihopai River; the Wairau River watershed upstream of the junction of Pine Valley and Wairau Rivers and upstream of Wairau Valley Town.

Area B:—Sounds: That area of the District, north of a line joining points Elaine Bay settlement, Tennyson Inlet settlement and Havelock township and north of the Havelock to Picton Road and north of the Picton to Fighting Bay Road.

Area C:—Low country: That area of the District excluding Area A and Area B.
