Declaration Under the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1966

WHEREAS the Minister of Transport is vested with the power to declare, by notice in the Gazette, that any Order in Council under section 7 of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1966 (as amended by section 4 of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Amendment Act 1977) shall not apply in respect of any specified ship or ships or class or classes of ship, and may in a like manner vary or revoke any such notice, and may make declarations unconditionally or upon or subject to conditions.

And whereas by an Instrument of Delegation dated the 4th day of May 1982 the power to make such a declaration was delegated to the Secretary for Transport.

And whereas by an Instrument of Delegation dated the 26th day of May 1981 the Secretary for Transport delegated to me all his powers under the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1966 when he and the Deputy Secretaries were out of Head Office.

Now, therefore, I, Wallace McCarroll, Director of Corporate Services in the Ministry of Transport make the following declaration:

DECLARATION

THE Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Order 1979 shall have no application in respect of the ships

FV Sea Wyf
MV Umbilical

whilst they are working in the protected area designated ‘Area 10—Cook Strait’ for the purpose of undertaking a diving survey of Cook Strait Cables 2 and 3, for the period 22 March–30 April 1986.

Cancellation of Appointment of Chairman to Orton Bradley Park Road

PURSUANT to section 4 (a) of the R. O. Bradley Estate Act 1972, His Excellency the Governor-General hereby cancels the appointment of the Commissioner of Crown Lands for the Canterbury Land District, ex officio, to be chairman of the Orton Bradley Park Board, effective from 31 March 1986 and in his place appoints

Lawrence Melville Kenworthy

to be chairman of the Orton Bradley Park Board, such member to hold office for a term expiring on 30 June 1986.
