Commerce Act 1975

NOTICE is hereby given of the following decisions of the Commerce Commission:

Decision No. 154 dated 25 February 1986.

By this decision the Commerce Commission consented to the merger or takeover proposal whereby Consolidated Metal Industries Ltd. may acquire 100 percent of the issued share capital of Hurricane Wire Products Ltd.

Decision No. 155 dated 25 February 1986.

By this decision the Commerce Commission consented to the merger or takeover proposal whereby Dominion Breweries Ltd. may acquire up to 100 percent of the shareholding of Nelson Motor Lodge Ltd., subject to the condition that within 1 year from the date of this consent coming into force Dominion Breweries Ltd. will divest not less than 60 percent of its shareholding in Nelson Motor Lodge Ltd. to a purchaser independent of Dominion Breweries Ltd.

The Standards Act 1965—Draft New Zealand Amendment Available for Comment

PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the following draft amendment is being circulated.

Number and Title of Specification

DZ 5430/AB Specification for protective helmets for vehicle users.

Draft Amendment B amends the New Zealand Standard (NZS 5430:1983) which is a declaration of the Australian Standard (AS 1698:1980).

It incorporates certain technical changes to preserve the commonality with AS 1698.

The Standards Act 1965—Draft New Zealand Standard Specification Available for Comment

PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the following draft New Zealand standard specification is being circulated.

Number and Title of Specification

DZ 5226/ Specification for the performance of manually operated wheelchairs.

This draft performance Standard covers manually operated wheelchairs, both self-propelled and attendant-propelled, but not powered. Wheelchair design is not a part of the Standard, nor arc materials.

The proposed Standard provides a series of tests of the ability of a wheelchair to withstand a variety of impacts and stresses which have been chosen to approximate those generally encountered in actual use.
