Number and Title of Specification

DZ 1977/A4 Draft Amendment No. 4 to NZS 1999:1965 Specification for safety requirements for electric room heaters. Gratis.

This draft amendment arises from discussions with officials of the Electricity Division, Ministry of Energy, following their issue of a Notice under Regulation 8 of the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1976 (see Gazette, 26 September 1985, page 4237). This draft amendment proposes a method of preventing fan-heater fires by requiring the fitting of a non-self-resetting thermal cutout. Proposals for alternative methods are invited. The opportunity is also taken to modify the test finger, to update other references, and to metricate dimensions, but further revision is deferred until the forthcoming adoption of IEC 335-2-30 as a new Standard in the NZS 6300 series.
