The Standards Act 1965—Overseas Specifications Available for Comment

PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965,
notice is hereby given that the under-mentioned overseas
specifications are being considered for declaration as New Zealand
Standards.

Number and Title of Specification

ISO 3767:--- Tractors, machinery for agriculture and forestry,
powered lawn and garden equipment—Symbols for operator
controls and other displays—
Part 1:1982 Common symbols.
(Including Addendum 1:1985) $64.50
Part 2:1982 Symbols for agricultural tractors and machinery.
(Including Addendum 1:1985) $60.00

This International Standard establishes common symbols for use
on all types of agricultural and forestry tractors and machinery.
These common symbols are divided into two groups:
Group 1: Symbols for operator controls
Group 2: Symbols other than for operator controls
Part 2 is specific to agricultural tractors and machines.

ISO 3767:1979 was adopted in New Zealand as NZS 5104:1981
and it is now proposed that ISO 3767:Parts 1 and 2:1982 should
be declared as NZS 5104:Parts 1 and 2:1986.

The Standards Act 1965—Draft New Zealand Standard Specifications Available for Comment

PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965,
notice is hereby given that the following draft New Zealand standard
specifications are being circulated.

Number and Title of Specification

DZ 5827 Industrial overalls
$10.00

This draft Standard covers industrial overalls for general purposes.
These garments are not designed as protection against specific
hazards but are primarily for the purpose of keeping the wearers’
clothes clean. Aspects of sizing, make-up, and materials of industrial
combination overalls (coveralls), bib overalls, three-quarter overall
coats (dust coats), smocks, and overall trousers made from woven
fabric are covered. With the exception of smocks, sizings are based
on men’s measurements but the garments have in practice been
found appropriate for wear by women.

Part 2 Specification for industrial overalls for special purposes.
$10.00

This draft Standard covers industrial overalls for special purposes
i.e. for protection against the following specific types of hazard or
combination of hazards: flame and radiant heat, molten metal
(including glass) splash, welding and chemical spills. The Standard
will give guidance to the most suitable materials to be worn when
working in situations involving the above hazards, the design,
method of construction and maintenance and methods of test of
the protective qualities of the garment. This Standard describes
methods of protection against hazardous vapours and their effects
on the skin. The Standard does not cover garments designed for
use in coldstores. A separate Standard is being prepared for high
visibility overalls for use by road workers and others.

Part 3/AA Draft Amendment A to AS 2375:1980 Guide to
the selection, care and use of clothing for protection against heat
and fire. Gratis.

This amendment will place on record the declaration of AS
2375:1980 as a New Zealand Standard.
