PURSUANT to section 120 of the Transport Act 1962, the No. 11 District Transport Licensing Authority (F. H. K. Moore), gives notice of the receipt of the following applications and will hold a public sitting in the Conference Room, Sixth Floor, State Insurance Building, Don Street, Invercargill on Wednesday, 8 October 1986 commencing at 9.30 a.m. to hear evidence for or against granting them.

A11/86/28 Robin Thomas Frew and Sylvie Edith Ellen Frew, trading as R. T. and S. E. Frew Partnership, Invercargill. Application for a new Goods Service Licence with one Rail Exemption Certificate exempting licence from the provisions of section 109 of the Transport Act 1962 for petroleum products in tank wagons from Mobil Oil NZ Limited’s bulk depot at Ocean Beach Road, Bluff to Mobil’s customers tanks and also packages in racks on tank wagons throughout the No. 10 and 11 Transport Licensing Districts. A86/DN/22 Alfred Neill, Dunedin. Application to amend the following Continuous Taxicab Service Licence by the addition of the following special condition:

  1. The licensee may carry unaccompanied goods when his cab is hired by an individual for the express purpose of carrying an item or items of goods for and on behalf of the hirer where the hirer does not wish to accompany such goods, provided however:

(a) Hiring shall be undertaken only through the radio-telephone facilities of the association to which the licensee belongs.

(b) Charges for these hirings shall be in accordance with the scale of taxi charges as approved from time to time by the Secretary for Transport.

(c) Goods must be carried in the closed luggage boot.

(d) Any one item of goods must not exceed 10 kg gross weight.

(e) Neither the licensee or the driver nor any other person shall undertake any advertising or soliciting to encourage such hirings.

A10/86/68 New Zealand Railways Corporation Passenger Business Group, Dunedin. Application to amend Passenger Service Licence No. 5541 by deleting therefrom the following special conditions:

  1. The licensee shall not set down passengers and/or parcels between Dunedin and a point a quarter of a mile beyond Normanby trolleybus terminus on the outward journey, or pick up passengers and/or parcels between those points on the inward journey.

  2. It shall be a condition of this licence that on the Friday night service from Glenavy and return, no passengers and/or parcels shall be picked up on the inward journey between the junction of the Kurow Highway and on the Main North State Highway at Pukeuri

and Oamaru (inclusive) and on the outward journey no passengers and/or parcels shall be set down between these points.

(ii) Wherever practical goods must be carried in the closed luggage boot or the luggage compartment.

(iii) Any one item of goods must not exceed 20 kilograms gross weight.

(iv) Neither the licensee, nor the driver, nor any other person shall undertake any advertising or soliciting to encourage such hirings.”
