  1. Principal local authorities—Where 2 or more constituent districts are combined into a combined district under clause 3 of this order, the council of that one of them after whose name in the first column of the First Schedule to this order the expression “(P)” is placed is hereby selected and appointed to be the principal local authority of that combined district within the meaning of and for the purposes of the Act.

  2. Representation of constituent districts and combined district—There shall be elected to the Board as the representatives of every constituent district or combined district specified in the first column of the First Schedule to this order the number of persons specified in the second column of that Schedule opposite the reference to that constituent district or combined district.

  3. Revocations—The orders specified in the Second Schedule to this order are hereby revoked.

At Wellington this 4th day of August 1986

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to sections 10, 11, and 11A of the Electric Power Boards Act 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. Title and commencement—(1) This order may be cited as the Thames Valley Electric Power Board Representation Order 1986.
    (2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its publication in the Gazette.

  2. Application—(1) This order shall apply in respect of the triennial election of members of the Thames Valley Electric Power Board to be held on the 11th day of October 1986, and every subsequent election of any member or members of that Board.
    (2) Notwithstanding the revocation of the orders specified in clause 6 of this order, those orders shall apply in respect of any election before the 1986 triennial general election as if this order had not been made.

  3. Combined districts—Where the names of 2 or more constituent districts within the district of the Thames Valley Electric Power Board are shown bracketed together in the first column of the First Schedule to this order, those constituent districts are hereby combined into a combined district for the purposes of the election of representatives on the Board of that district.

  4. Principal local authorities—Where 2 or more constituent districts are combined into a combined district under clause 3 of this order, the council of that one of them after whose name in the first column of the First Schedule to this order the expression “(P)” is placed is hereby selected and appointed to be the principal local authority of that combined district within the meaning of and for the purposes of the Act.

  5.
