Declaration of Infected Areas Under Forest Disease Control Regulations 1967—Australian Leaf Mining Sawfly (Phylacteophaga Species)

PURSUANT to regulation 4 of the Forest Disease Control Regulations 1967, I, Peter William Herrick, Conservator of Forests, Auckland, with the approval of the Minister of Forests, hereby declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be an infected area in respect of the insect called Australian Leaf Mining Sawfly (Phylacteophaga species) and revoke the declaration of infected areas published in New Zealand Gazette, 3 April 1985, No. 60, page 1523.


SCHEDULE

ALL that area generally and roughly described as Wellsford-Auckland-Waikato-Coromandel, being that area bounded between the northern boundary of Rodney County (Mangawhai Harbour to Kaipara Harbour); and to the southern side of State Highway No. 23 eastwards to the Hamilton City boundary, thence following the Hamilton City southern boundary generally southwards and eastwards to its junction with State Highway No. 26, thence generally eastwards and northwards along the south-eastern side of State Highway No. 26 through Morrinsville and Te Aroha to its junction with State Highway No. 2 in Paeroa, thence eastwards along the southern side of State Highway No. 2 to Waihi, thence southwards along the western side of State Highway No. 2 to its junction with Tanners Point Road, and thence generally eastwards along Tanners Point Road to Tanners Point in Tauranga Harbour.

NOTES

  1. This declaration shall come into effect upon first publication in a newspaper circulating in the infected area.

  2. It is an offence to remove any live plant material (including nursery tree stocks, leaf material, branches, logs or firewood), from the infected area, if such are of any eucalyptus or oak species, until further notice. Nurseries may be permitted to move tree stocks from the infected area on application to the Conservator of Forests.

  3. The infected area may be generally and roughly described as Wellsford, Auckland, Waikato and Coromandel.

  4. For further information, contact the Conservator of Forests, N.Z. Forest Service, Auckland.

Revocation of the Reservation Over a Reserve

4.8359 hectares, more or less, being part Section 72, Block XIV, Norsewood Survey District; save and excepting thereout for a pipeline of land 1.21 metres wide intersecting the above described land.

Revocation of the Reservation Over a Reserve and Specifying the Manner of Disposal

PURSUANT to the Reserves Act 1977, the Minister of Lands, hereby revokes the reservation as a reserve for recreation purposes over the land, described in the Schedule hereto and further declares that the said land may be disposed of by the Waipukurau District Council on such terms and conditions as the council shall determine.

1318 square metres, more or less, being Lot 23, D.P. 16429, situated in Block XV, Waipukurau Survey District. All certificate of title J3/972. Subject to a power easement created by document 393961.2.
