ANZCERTA TENDERED EXCLUSIVE AUSTRALIAN LICENCES (TEALS)—TENDER ROUND 17

The following are the official results of Round 17 of the Import Licensing Tendering Scheme.

This round of tendering was for goods of Australian origin. Goods imported with these licences must meet the criteria for products of Australian origin as contained in the Customs Regulations 1968, as amended. The New Zealand/Australian Rules of Origin are also detailed in article 3 of the ANZCERT Agreement.

In submitting these tenders, tenderers have been required to sign an undertaking which states that the tenderer is domiciled in New Zealand and does not act in this matter on behalf of any other person.

Explanatory Notes:

  1. Allocations were completed in 2 stages. In both stages allocation was in order of the premium rate bid. Where demand exceeded availability in an item code the initial allocation to each tenderer was limited to the initial share detailed for that item code in the call for tenders (and repeated in the results). The remaining licence was then allocated in the second stage in the order of the premium rate bid without any limitations on the amount an individual tenderer could receive.

  2. In those item codes where not all of the licence available was taken up by way of tender and a residual balance remains, premiums have been waived.

  3. Where a residual balance remains in an item code it has been detailed in the results. This amount has been added to the residual Exclusive Australian licence pool. Residual licences may be obtained without any cost on request while a balance remains. Applications are processed on a 'first come, first served' basis and should be addressed to:
    The Executive Officer,
    General Industries 2,
    Department of Trade and Industry,
    Private Bag,
    Wellington.

  4. Appendix B. Pursuant to Annex C of the ANZCERT Agreement, in item codes where specified, the Exclusive Australian Licences are only available for goods excluding components of a kind commonly used with:
    (a) Tractors for articulated vehicles, being tractors that are designed for operation solely or principally on the highway; or
    (b) Vehicles of Tariff Heading 87.02, other than air-cushioned vehicles or assembled convertible road/rail motor coaches.
