NOTICE

  1. Short title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Customs Exchange Rates Notice (No. 5) 1985.

(2) This notice shall come into force on the 1st day of May 1985.

  1. Exchange rates—Where under any provisions of the Customs Act 1966 any amount which is required to be taken into account for the purpose of assessing duty or any other purpose is not an amount in New Zealand currency, the amount to be so taken into account shall be the equivalent in New Zealand currency of that amount ascertained in accordance with the rate of exchange set out in the Schedule to this notice.

  2. Revocation—The Customs Exchange Rate Notice published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 53, dated 28 March 1985, on page 1422 is hereby revoked.

Consent to Raising of Loans by Certain Local Authorities

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the undersigned Deputy Secretary to the Treasury, acting under powers delegated to the Secretary to the Treasury by the Minister of Finance, hereby consents to the borrowing by the local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto, of the whole or any part of the respective amounts specified in the Schedule:

Changes in Seat Belt Requirements for Particular Model Motor Vehicles

NOTICE

PURSUANT to regulation 78A and regulation 90 (1) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, motor vehicles of the make and models specified in the Schedule hereto, may be fitted with two-point lap seat belts of an approved type to any folding forward-facing rear seats (in place of lap and diagonal seat belts), and are exempt from the requirements to fit seat belts to any side-facing folding rear seats.
