Establishment of an Institution Under a New Name

PURSUANT to section 69 of the Children and Young Persons Act 1974, the Minister of Social Welfare hereby notifies that the premises situated as listed below is established as an institution within the meaning of the said Act and shall be known by the name shown in the Schedule.

Notice of Intention to Vary Hours of Sale of Liquor at Licensed Premises—Wellington Licensing Committee

PURSUANT to section 221(14) of the Sale of Liquor Act 1962 as amended by section 22(1) of the Sale of Liquor Amendment Act 1976, I, Stanley James Callahan, Secretary for Justice, hereby give notice that the Wellington Licensing Committee on 27 November 1985 made an order authorising variations of the usual hours of trading for the Licensed Premises known as the Hutt Park Hotel.

To the intent that on days other than those on which licensed premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to the general public the hours for the opening and closing of the said premises shall be as follows:

(a) On any Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday—Opening at 11 o’clock in the morning and closing at 10 o’clock in the evening.

(b) On any Friday, Saturday and Christmas Eve—Opening at 11 o’clock in the morning and closing at 11 o’clock in the evening.

(c) On any New Years Eve—Opening at 11 o’clock in the morning and closing at 00.30 o’clock on the morning of New Year’s Day.

PURSUANT to section 84(2) of the Criminal Justice Act 1985 an order was made in the District Court at Christchurch on Monday, the 18th day of November 1985 against Eric Albert Lee for the confiscation of the following motor vehicle:

Notice Fixing Payments to North and South Island Councils of Acclimatisation Societies (Notice No. 3649; Ag. 9/2/2/3/1)

  1. Pursuant to regulation 18 of the Freshwater Fisheries Regulations 1983, I hereby declare that—

(a) The sum payable by each South Island Acclimatisation Society to its Island Council in respect of each licence issued by it shall be as follows:

Adult whole season licence $5.50
Junior whole season licence 1.10
Adult weekly licence 2.20
Adult day licence 1.10
Junior day licence Nil

(b) The sum payable by each North Island Acclimatisation Society to its Island Council in respect of each licence issued by it shall be as follows:

Adult whole season licence $4.40
Junior whole season licence 1.10
Adult weekly licence 2.20
Adult day licence 1.10
Junior day licence Nil

  1. The notice published in the Gazette on 8 November 1984, No. 204, page 4796, fixing payments to North and South Island Councils of Acclimatisation Societies, is hereby revoked.

  2. This notice shall come into force on the 19th day of December 1985.

Notice Imposing Surcharges on Freshwater Fisheries Licence Fees (Notice No. 3650; Ag. 9/2/2/3/1)

  1. Pursuant to regulation 17 of the Freshwater Fisheries Regulations 1983, I hereby impose—

(a) A surcharge on South Island licence fees as follows:

Adult whole season licence $5.50
Junior whole season licence 1.10
Adult weekly licence 2.20
Adult day licence 1.10
Junior day licence Nil

(b) A surcharge on North Island licence fees as follows:

Adult whole season licence $4.40
Junior whole season licence 1.10

The Standards Act 1965—Draft New Zealand Standard Specification Available for Comment

PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the following draft New Zealand standard specification is being circulated.

Number and Title of Specification

DZ 5839 Visibility aids for road users. $10.

This Standard specifies the performance requirements for retroreflective flexible sheeting or fabric used in the manufacture of garments of visibility aids worn by persons on or near streets and highways at night. It also specifies colours to be used on garments or visibility aids intended to provide a higher visibility of persons on or near streets and highways during daylight. The colours apply either to the materials out of which the garment or visibility aid is made or to materials attached to the garment or visibility aid to increase their visibility.

It does not apply to retroreflectors intended for use as roadside delineators and as road sign reflectors, or any rigid retroreflectors attached to garments. DZ 5441 Parts 1 and 2 covers the performance and the fitting of lights and retroreflectors on pedal cycles.

All persons who may be affected by this publication and who desire to comment thereon, may obtain copies at the price shown, from the Standards Association of New Zealand, Wellington Trade Centre, 15-23 Sturdee Street (from 1 January 1986 to be known as 181-187 Victoria Street) (or Private Bag), Wellington.

NOTE—Payment must accompany all requests for drafts.
The closing date for the receipt of comment is 13 March 1986.
