State Forest Land Set Apart as a Dedicated Area—Mount Hobson - Kaikoke Swamp Ecological Area—Auckland Conservancy

Pursuant to section 15 of the Forests Act 1949 (as inserted by section 2 of the Forests Amendment Act 1973, and amended by section 5 of the Forests Amendment Act 1976), the Minister of Forests hereby gives notice that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart and dedicated for the purposes of protection, maintenance, and management of trees and other plants, and for the protection of the natural environment and native wildlife, and for scientific purposes, especially ecological purposes. The area so dedicated will be known as Mount Hobson - Kaikoke Swamp Ecological Area.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT—GREAT BARRIER ISLAND

COUNTY

995 hectares, more or less, being part O.L.C. 401; part Allotments 14 and 18, Harataonga Parish; Allotment 210, part Allotments 4, 139, 140, 170, 181, and 229, Aotea Parish.

90.346 hectares, more or less, being Allotment 188, Aotea Parish.

All above situated in Blocks III and VI, Fitzroy Survey District and Block II, Tryphena Survey District. Part New Zealand Gazette, 1963, page 1308, 1945, page 109, 1949, page 1212. 1951, page 1457; as shown on plan S08/3, deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington. EXPLANATORY NOTE

This area is dedicated as an ecological area for the preservation and protection of virgin native forest which includes mature kauri and breeding colonies of the rare black and Cook’s petrels in the Mount Hobson area, as well as the habitat of Kaikoke Swamp which supports several species of rare birdlife.

Pursuant to section 15 of the Forests Act 1949 (as inserted by section 2 of the Forests Amendment Act 1973, and amended by section 5 of the Forests Amendment Act 1976), the Minister of Forests hereby gives notice that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart and dedicated for the purposes of protection, maintenance, and management of trees and other plants, and for the protection of the natural environment and native wildlife, and for scientific purposes, especially ecological purposes. The area so dedicated will be known as Onata Ecological Area.

This area is dedicated as an ecological area for the preservation and protection of an area of virgin lowland forest on the eastern margin of the Mamaku plateau situated along the Onata Stream.

Certain Roman Catholic Primary Schools in the Diocese of Christchurch (Attendance Dues) Notice 1985

Pursuant to section 36 of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, the Minister of Education hereby gives notice approving the charging of attendance dues at the following nine Roman Catholic primary schools in the Diocese of Christchurch:

Christ the King School, Burnside,
St Joseph’s School, Papanui,
St Anne’s School, Woolston,
St Mary’s School, Hokitika,
New Brighton Catholic School, New Brighton,
Star of the Sea School, Sumner,
St James’s School, Aranui,
Our Lady of the Assumption School, Hoon Hay.

This notice supersedes all previous notices establishing attendance dues in these 9 Roman Catholic primary schools within the Diocese of Christchurch.

NOTICE

  1. This notice shall be cited as the Certain Roman Catholic Primary Schools in the Diocese of Christchurch (Attendance Dues) Notice 1985.

  2. The proprietor of the above-named schools may enter into an agreement with the parents or other persons accepting responsibility for the education of a child at the above named schools requiring them to pay attendance dues.

  3. The attendance dues payable in respect of any pupil shall be $30 per term with effect from Term 3, 1985.

  4. Attendance dues received by the proprietor shall be used for the purpose of paying for such improvements to, or for such capital works associated with, the buildings and associated facilities of the above-mentioned integrated schools as may be required or approved by the Minister of Education pursuant to section 40 (2) of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, or for meeting debts, mortgages, liens, or other charges associated with any of the land and buildings that constitute the integrated schools.

Notice of Application for the Renewal of an International Air Services Licence

Pursuant to section 15 of the International Air Services Licensing Act 1947, notice is hereby given that Polynesian Airlines Operations Limited of Apia, Western Samoa, has applied for the renewal of its International Air Services Licence for the carriage of passengers, cargo and mail between Auckland and Apia via Tonga and optionally via Niue twice per week, and between Rarotonga and Apia once per week, for a 6-month period from 18 October 1985.

Further details of the application may be obtained from the Secretary of Transport, Ministry of Transport, Private Bag, Wellington.
