The Standards Act 1965—Draft New Zealand Standard Specification Available for Comment

Pursuant to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the following draft New Zealand standard specification is being circulated.

Number and Title of Specification

DZ 4202. Standard method of measurement of building works. Gratis.

The purpose of this draft is to provide a uniform basis for the measurement of building works and for the presentation of units of measurement in Schedules of Quantities and as such the method embodies the essentials of good practice.

It is a revision of NZS 4202:1975. The draft follows a different format to the 1975 edition. Several new sections appear: General rules, sprayed concrete, laminated timber, insulated panel systems, fire protection, lifts and escalators, and site works. Gibrailar board has been incorporated with fibrous plaster in a section now called plasterboard linings. The revision of the document has been a rationalisation and upgrading to cover new materials rather than a radical change.

The closing date for the receipt of comment is 22 August 1985.
