Import Licence Tendering Scheme—Use of Registration Number

A large number of discrepancies have resulted in recent rounds of tendering because the bidders’ names have differed from those shown on the Register of Tenderers. This has resulted in much editing and has slowed the announcement of results.

It is therefore important for bidders to enter their registration numbers on all bid forms submitted and to enter these correctly. If bid forms are received without the confidential registration numbers on them, there can be no assurance that these are in fact genuine bids.

For these reasons, bids received which do not bear the registration number will be declared invalid. Bids which are subsequently shown to bear the incorrect registration number will also be declared invalid.

An exception to this is bids submitted by tenderers for the first time. In those cases a registration number will be allocated when the bids are processed and thereafter the conditions outlined above will apply.

Dated this 6th day of June 1984.

G. D. PRYOR, Registrar of Tenders.
