Environmental Impact Report Notified—Monowai/Maratoto Gold Mining Proposal Crusader Minerals New Zealand Limited

THE Commission for the Environment has received an environmental Impact Report on a proposal by Crusader Minerals New Zealand Limited to develop the Monowai mine at Waiomu and to treat the ore at an existing processing plant in the Maratoto Valley near Thames. The report is being audited by the Commission in accordance with the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Procedures and will be referred to the Ministry of Energy and the New Zealand Forest Service who will not make decisions on the project until after they have considered the audit. This will be published on or about 16 July 1984.

I invite you to make written submissions on the environmental implications of the proposals as described in the report. (You are requested to use A4-sized paper and to ensure that handwritten submissions are legible and in dark ink).

Submissions should be addressed to the Commission for the Environment, P.O. Box 10 241, Wellington and should reach the Commission before 5 p.m. on Friday, 25 May 1984.

Copies of the report may be purchased for $10 from Crusader Minerals New Zealand Limited at 586 Great South Road, Auckland, or P.O. Box 17 036, Greenlane, Auckland.

The report may be inspected at the following places:

Public libraries at Whangarei, Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Greymouth, Dunedin and Alexandra

The 7 university libraries.

Local libraries at Te Aroha, Morrinsville, Paeroa, Pauanui, Thames, Waihi and Whangamata.

Local authority offices in the following places:

Ohinemuri County Council: Paeroa.

Thames Coromandel District Council: Thames, Coromandel, Whitianga, Tairua, Whangamata.

Waihi Borough Council: Waihi.

Hauraki Plains County Council: Ngatea.

Notice of Intention to Vary Hours of Sale of Liquor at Licensed Premises—Hurunui Licensing Committee

PURSUANT to section 221A and 221B of the Sale of Liquor Act 1962, as amended by section 22 (14) of the Sale of Liquor Amendment Act 1976, I, Stanley James Callahan, Secretary for Justice, hereby give notice that the Hurunui Licensing Committee on 13 October 1983 made an order authorising variations of the usual hours of trading for the licensed premises known as the DB Kaikanoi, Kaipoi.

To the intent that on days other than those on which licensed premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to the general public the hours for the opening and closing of the said premises shall be as follows:

(a) On any Christmas Eve—Opening at 11 o’clock in the morning and closing at 11 o’clock in the evening.

(b) On any New Year’s Eve—Opening at 11 o’clock in the morning and closing at 00.30 o’clock on the morning of New Year’s Day.

Notice of Intention to Vary Hours of Sale of Liquor at Licensed Premises—Hurunui Licensing Committee

PURSUANT to section 221A and 221B of the Sale of Liquor Act 1962, as amended by section 22 (14) of the Sale of Liquor Amendment Act 1976, I, Stanley James Callahan, Secretary for Justice, hereby give notice that the Hurunui Licensing Committee on 13 October 1983 made an order authorising variations of the usual hours of trading for the licensed premises known as the Anglers Arms Tavern, Sefton.

To the intent that on days other than those on which licensed premises are required to be closed for sale of liquor to the general public the hours for the opening and closing of the said premises shall be as follows:

(a) On any Friday and Saturday (not being New Year’s Eve)—Opening at 11 o’clock in the morning and closing at 11 o’clock in the evening.

(b) On any New Year’s Eve—Opening at 11 o’clock in the morning and closing at 00.30 o’clock on the morning of New Year’s Day.

(b) On any Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday—Opening at 11 o’clock in the morning and closing at 10 o’clock in the evening in respect of the Platform 10 Bar and Bottleshop.

Amending the Water Recreation (Bay of Plenty River) Notice 1979

I, Beryl Ann Ranger, Senior Executive Officer (Harbours and Foreshores), pursuant to the Water Recreation Regulations 1979* and in exercise of powers delegated to me pursuant to sections 8 and 9 of the Ministry of Transport Act 1968, hereby amend the Water Recreation (Bay of Plenty) Notice 1979† by deleting from the First Schedule to that notice clause 7 being a reference to the Tarawera River.
