Present:

THE RIGHT HON. D. MACINTYRE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 4 of the Disabled Persons Employment Promotion Act 1960, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the recommendation of the Minister of Labour made after consultation with the unions, associations, and organisations referred to in section 5 of that Act, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. Title—This order may be cited as the New Zealand Society for the Intellectually Handicapped (Incorporated), Franklin Branch Order 1984.

  2. Exemption—The New Zealand Society for the Intellectually Handicapped (Incorporated), Franklin Branch, an organisation approved* by the Minister of Labour under section 3 of the Disabled Persons Employment Promotion Act 1960, is hereby granted exemption in respect of its sheltered workshop at Ray Small Drive, Papakura from:

(a) All the provisions of every award and agreement that would otherwise apply to persons employed in that workshop; and

(b) The Minimum Wage Act 1945, the Holidays Act 1981, and sections 10 (2) (b) and 15 of the Factories and Commercial Premises Act 1981.

Exemption—The New Zealand Society for the Intellectually Handicapped (Incorporated), South Otago Sub-Branch, an organisation approved* by the Minister of Labour under section 3 of the Disabled Persons Employment Promotion Act 1960, is hereby granted exemption in respect of its sheltered workshop at 12 High Street, Balclutha from—

(a) All the provisions of every award and agreement that would otherwise apply to persons employed in that workshop; and

(b) The Minimum Wage Act 1945, the Holidays Act 1981, and sections 10 (2) (b) and 15 of the Factories and Commercial Premises Act 1981.

Exemption—The New Zealand Society for the Intellectually Handicapped (Incorporated), Canterbury Branch, an organisation approved* under the former name of the Intellectually Handicapped Children’s Society (Incorporated), Canterbury Branch, by the Minister of Labour under section 3 of the Disabled Persons Employment Promotion Act 1960, is hereby granted exemption in respect of its sheltered workshop at 197A Marshlands Road, Christchurch from—

(a) All the provisions of every award and agreement that would otherwise apply to persons employed in that workshop; and

(b) The Minimum Wage Act 1945, the Holidays Act 1981, and sections 10 (2) (b) and 15 of the Factories and Commercial Premises Act 1981.
