Reservation of Land and Naming of Reserve

PURSUANT to the Land Act 1948, the Minister of Lands, hereby sets apart the land, described in the Schedule hereto, as an historic reserve and further, pursuant to the Reserves Act 1977, declares that the said reserve shall hereafter be known as the Stony Batter Historic Reserve.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT—WAIHEKE COUNTY—STONY BATTER HISTORIC RESERVE

18.4233 hectares, more or less, being Allotment 135 (formerly part Allotment 40), Waiheke Parish, situated in Block IV, Waiheke Survey District. Part New Zealand Gazette, 1968, page 298. S.O. Plan 44553. Together with appurtenant easements (for access, cable and pipeline) created by Gazette notice A. 116777.

Revocation of the Reservation Over Part of a Reserve

PURSUANT to the Reserves Act 1977, the Minister of Lands hereby revokes the reservation over that part of the Niagara Recreation Reserve, described in the Schedule hereto.

Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975

PURSUANT to section 10 of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, notice is given that supplementary integration agreements have been signed between the Minister of Education and the proprietors of the following schools:

Xavier College, Christchurch.

Marist Brothers’ School, Hamilton.
St Patrick’s School, Bryndwr.
St Pius X School, New Plymouth.
Edmund Rice College, Rotorua.

The said supplementary integration agreements came into effect on 30 January 1984. Copies of the supplementary integration agreements are available for inspection without charge by any member of the public at the Department of Education, Head Office, Government Building, Lambton Quay, Wellington and at regional offices.

Notice to Make Returns of Land Under the Land Tax Act 1976

PURSUANT to the Land Tax Act 1976, the Commissioner of Inland Revenue hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. A return of land held as at noon on 31 March 1984 is required from every person and every company, whether a taxpayer or not, being the owner of land in New Zealand within the meaning of the Land Tax Act 1976, if the total land value of land owned as at noon on 31 March 1984 exceeded $175,000 and the land is not of any of the classes specified in section 27 of the Land Tax Act 1976.

  2. The principal class of land exempted from land tax under section 27 of the Land Tax Act 1976 is land used solely or principally for the purposes of any business of:

(a) Animal husbandry (including poultry-keeping, bee-keeping, and the breeding of horses); or
(b) Growing fruit, vegetables, or other crop-producing plants; or
(c) Horticulture; or
(d) Viticulture.

The exemption in this paragraph does not extend to land used solely or principally for the purpose of forestry or silviculture.

  1. Land Tax is dealt with by the Masterton office of the Department, and returns may be sent there or any district office of the Inland Revenue Department, not later than 7 May 1984.

  2. Return forms are available at all district offices of the Inland Revenue Department.

  3. Any person or company failing to furnish a return within the prescribed time is liable to a fine not exceeding $500.

Pahiatua to Carterton Natural Gas Pipeline Notice of Application

NOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant to the provisions of the Petroleum Act 1937, the Natural Gas Corporation of New Zealand Limited has applied to the Minister of Energy for an authorisation to convey natural gas by pipeline from the Pahiatua Gate Station (Pahiatua-Mangahao Road) to the proposed Dalefield Gate Station (Dalefield Road), south-west of Carterton. The length of the route is approximately 81 kilometres.

Copies of the application can be inspected at the offices of the Pahiatua County Council, Eketahuna County Council, Masterton County Council, Wairarapa South County Council and also at the Palmerston North and Wellington offices of Pipeline Project, Ministry of Works and Development.

Submission on the proposal may be made within 30 days of the date of this advertisement and should be sent to the Ministry of Energy, Private Bag, Wellington.
