The Traffic (Geraldine Borough) Notice No. 1, 1984

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, and pursuant to a delegation from the Minister of Transport and pursuant to a subdelegation from the Secretary for Transport, I, Carne Maurice Clissold, Chief Traffic Engineer, hereby give the following notice:

NOTICE

THIS notice may be cited as the Traffic (Geraldine Borough) Notice No. 1, 1984.

The roads specified in the Schedule hereto are hereby excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

So much of the notice dated the 20th day of December 1937 issued pursuant to section 3 of the Motor Vehicles Amendment Act 1936 is hereby revoked.

PURSUANT to regulation 3 of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1974*, and pursuant to the powers delegated to me by the Secretary for Transport, I, Carne Maurice Clissold, Chief Traffic Engineer, hereby give the following notice:

NOTICE

1. This notice may be cited as the Road Classification (Paparua County) Notice No. 1, 1984.
2. The Paparua County Council's proposed classification of the road set out in the Schedule hereto is hereby approved.
3. So much of the notice dated the 31st day of May 1982† which relates to the classification of the road described in the Schedule hereto is hereby revoked.

Decision of the Films Censorship Board of Review

PURSUANT to section 82 of the Cinematograph Films Act 1976, 20th Century Fox Distribution applied for a review of the trailer for Class of '84.

The trailer depicts a society marked by anti social behaviour (amongst young high school pupils) and violence, of unchecked urban crime contrasted against the seeming impotence of authorities to counter it. The message of the trailer is that power is the law of survival.

In terms of section 28 of the Cinematograph Films Act 1976, the trailer for Class of 84 was approved for exhibition in New Zealand with the classification R18.

PURSUANT to section 82 of the Cinematograph Films Act 1976, Amalgamated Fox Distribution applied for a review of the trailer for Chained Heat.

The trailer depicts an overcrowded women's prison where themes of racial tension, domination of prisoners by other prisoners as well as staff and corruption at all levels of administration are used to link scenes of rape, murder, drug stealing, lesbianism, razor slashing and sexual exploitation.
