Commerce Act 1975

NOTICE is hereby given of decision No. 95 of the Commerce Commission dated 10 October 1984. This decision relates to an application made by the Speech Communication Association (N.Z.) Inc. for approval of a collective pricing agreement.

By this decision the Commission resolved to approve the practice whereby the Association may recommend the use of a costing aid together with explanatory notes to its members, subject to the requirement that any such aid display prominently on the front page a statement reading:

“This costing aid is a guide only and does not constitute a recommendation by the Association as to the price or any element of the price which the member should charge.”

The Commission’s decision also requires the Council of the Association to instruct its members that the present standard contract form is no longer recommended, but allows it to recommend to its members adoption of a new standard contract form annexed to the decision.

Commerce Act 1975

NOTICE is hereby given of decision No. 96 of the Commerce Commission dated 11 October 1984. This decision relates to a merger or takeover proposal involving Transfin Investments Limited and Grower Holdings Limited.

By this decision the Commission determines to consent to the proposal whereby Transfin Investments may acquire up to 50 per cent minus one share of the issued capital of Grower Holdings Limited. No conditions attach to this consent.

The full text of this decision is available for inspection at the Commission’s offices, Sixth Floor, 163 The Terrace, Wellington (P.O. Box 10–273). Copies may be purchased on application.
