Designation of Geraldine District Community Arts Council

PURSUANT to section 32 (i) of the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council of New Zealand Act 1974, on the recommendation of the Southern Regional Arts Council and on the application of the Geraldine District Community Arts Council, the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council of New Zealand hereby designates to Geraldine District Community Arts Council for the following duly defined area:

That the boundaries of the Council comprise all the Kakahu and Geraldine Ridings of the Strathallan County, all the Mount Peel-Rangitata Riding (with the exception of the coastal area in a line east of Factory Road to Orton and the Rangitata River) and that part of the Milford Riding north of Rise Road and west of Rise Road, and shall also include the Geraldine and Temuka Boroughs.

Import Restriction on Genus Allium (Notice No. 3339; Ag. 12/2/12)

PURSUANT to section 6 of the Plants Act 1970, the Director-General hereby restricts as follows the introduction into New Zealand of all fresh garlic, leeks, onions, shallots and other vegetables of the genus Allium from all countries unless the Director-General is satisfied the importation will not introduce virus or virus-like diseases not known to be present in New Zealand. All imports of the above vegetables shall be subject to prior approval by permit to import issued by the Officer-in-Charge of the Plant Health Diagnostic Station at Levin.

Import Restriction on Avocado Fruit From California, USA (Notice No. 3341; Ag. 12/2/12)

PURSUANT to section 6 of the Plants Act 1970, the Director-General hereby prohibits the importation of avocado fruit from California, USA, as a precaution against introducing avocado blackstreak, a disease not known in New Zealand.

Import Restriction on Fresh Pears From Canada and the USA (Notice No. 3342; Ag. 12/2/12)

PURSUANT to section 6 of the Plants Act 1970, the Director-General hereby prohibits the importation of fresh pears from Canada and the USA unless the Director-General is satisfied the importation will not introduce pear psylla (Psylla pyricola) a pest not known in New Zealand. All imports of the above fruit shall be subject to prior approval by permit to import issued by the Officer in Charge of the Plant Health and Diagnostic Station at Levin.

Malvern No Longer Designated Rural Meat Area (Notice No. 3345; Ag. 15/10/7/C52)

PURSUANT to section 2 (3) of the Meat Act 1981, I hereby declare the rural meat area described as “Malvern County Council—Whole of district of Malvern County as from time to time constituted” to be no longer designated a rural meat area, as rural slaughterhouse licence C52 is now cancelled.

PURSUANT to section 2 (3) of the Meat Act 1981, I hereby declare the rural meat area described as “MacKenzie County Council—Whole of district of MacKenzie County as from time to time constituted” to be no longer designated a rural meat area, as rural slaughterhouse licence C10 is now cancelled.

Rodney No Longer Designated Rural Meat Area (Notice No. 3347; Ag. 15/10/7/A100 and A130)

PURSUANT to section 2 (3) of the Meat Act 1981, I hereby declare the rural meat area described as “Rodney County Council—All that area of the County of Rodney comprising the ridings of Albert-Arai, Kourawhero-Tauhoa, Hoteo, Omaha, Matakana and Kaipara-Puhoi, and all that area within the boundaries of the Wellsford District Community and the Warkworth District Community” to be no longer designated a rural meat area, as rural slaughterhouse licences A100 and A130 are now cancelled.

Confiscation of Motor Vehicle

PURSUANT to the Criminal Justice Act 1954, section 44b, motor vehicle, Registration No. GH 8536, 1972 Falcon, Chassis No. JG21ME172276 owned by Gary Donald Mills, of Flat 2, 112 Pukuatua Street, Rotorua was confiscated by Judge Trapski in the District Court, Rotorua, on 4th day of September 1984, in accordance with the above act.

Notice of Intent to Vary Hours of Sale of Liquor at Chartered Club—Napier Licensing Committee

PURSUANT to section 221A of the Sale of Liquor Act 1962 as amended by section 22 (14) of the Sale of Liquor Amendment Act 1976, I, Stanley James Callahan, Secretary for Justice, hereby give notice that the Napier Licensing Committee on 7 September 1984 made an order authorising variations of the usual hours of trading for the Chartered Club known as the Flaxmere Club.

To the intent that on days other than those on which Chartered Clubs are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to its members the hours for the opening and closing of the said premises shall be as follows:

(a) On any Friday and Saturday—Opening at 11 o’clock in the morning and closing at 11 o’clock in the evening.
