III PANEL PRODUCTS EXCLUSIVE AUSTRALIAN LICENCE FOR CALENDAR YEAR 1985
(1 January – 31 December 1985)

The issue of EALs for Panel products has been transferred to a calendar year basis, as set out in Annex C Part III of the ANZCERT Agreement. (No MEALs will be issued for the calendar year 1985, as the MEAL allocation, because of non-usage, has reverted to the tender pool). The call for tender for 1985 EAL for panel products is therefore as follows:

The amounts of licence tendered above include an increase of 25 percent made to compensate for the effects of devaluation.

B RESIDUAL EXCLUSIVE AUSTRALIAN LICENCE AVAILABLE ON REQUEST

(N.B.: This includes new additional amounts of licence that have become available).

In the Supplement to the New Zealand Gazette (No. 36) of Thursday, 8 March 1984, published Friday, 9 March, tenders were called (Round 13) for the 1984-85 Exclusive Australian Licence made available by way of tender. Results of this tender round were published in Supplement (No. 118) to the New Zealand Gazette of Thursday, 5 July 1984, published on Wednesday, 11 July 1984, together with the amounts of Residual Exclusive Australian Licence available (i.e., licence not taken up) in each tender category. Applications for this Residual Licence were called for by 31 July, and licence has been allocated and issued on the basis of applications received. Any left-over Residual Licence is available on request. However, to this has now been added an amount of licence equivalent to the 1983–84 Manufacturers’ Exclusive Australian Licence that remained unused at 30 June 1984, but only for the tender categories in which there was 1984–85 Residual 1983–84 Manufacturers’ Exclusive Australian Licences are being put up for tender. See (A1) above). The amounts, which are thereby now available are listed below by item code. This licence is available on request by letter to “The Executive Officer, General Industries (2), Department of Trade and Industry, Private Bag, Wellington.”

*NOTES:**

(a) The Residual Licence left over after Round 13 has been continuously available on request. Therefore the total amounts of REALs set out below only represent the amounts available as at the time of preparation of this Gazette notice, and the amounts may consequently have been reduced by REAL applications received and processed since then.

(b) The amounts of licence listed below include an increase of 25 percent made to compensate for the effects of devaluation.

(c) Please note that for the following item codes which are listed below in dollar terms, licences are issued in quantity terms according to the following nominal conversion rates:

41.015 $28.89 = 1 square metres.
48.080 $7.04 = 1 roll.
97.054 $13.38 = 1 unit.

(d) Appendix B

  1. Pursuant to Annex C of the ANZCERT Agreement, in the item codes listed below the Exclusive Australian Licences are only available for goods excluding components of a kind commonly used with:

(a) Tractors for articulated vehicles, being tractors that are designed for operation solely or principally on the highway; or

(b) Vehicles of Tariff Heading 87.02, other than air-cushioned vehicles or assembled convertible road/rail motor coaches.
