Queen Elizabeth the Second Arts Council of New Zealand: Designation of Administrative Local Authority for Community Arts Council

PURSUANT to section 36 of the Queen Elizabeth the Second Arts
Council of New Zealand Act 1974 as subsequently amended under
section 3 in 1977, I hereby designate the Akaroa County Council
to be the administrative local authority for the Akaroa Community
Arts Council.

Areas of Golden and Tasman Bays - Cape Soucis to Farewell Spit—Determined Not Available for Marine Farm Leasing or Licensing (Notice No. 3286; Ag. 9/6/22/7)

PURSUANT to section 4 of the Marine Farming Act 1971, the Minister
of Agriculture and Fisheries has determined that all that area of
foreshore, seabed and waters in the area from Cape Soucis to
Farewell Spit, Golden and Tasman Bays, comprising the regional
planning area of the Nelson Bays United Council, shall not be
available for marine farm leasing or licensing under the Act, except
those areas identified as available for marine farming under that
Council’s Marine Farming Study - Nelson Bays, March 1984.

The determination comes into effect from the date of publication
of this notice and will remain in effect until such time as it is revoked
or varied in accordance with the study.

Copies of the study are lodged at the offices of the Minister of
Agriculture and Fisheries, Wellington and Nelson, and the Nelson
Bays United Council.

Gazette notice No. 146, page 3726 of 10 December 1981 has been
revoked.

Declaration of Easement Agreement Under the Forests Act 1949

PURSUANT to section 15 (2A) of the Forests Act 1949, the Minister
of Forests being satisfied as to the sufficiency of such agreement
hereby declares:

  1. That an agreement in favour of Ian Beverley Hopper, company
    director, Lawrence Gerard King, airline pilot, and Olive
    Stanley King, his wife, all of Paunui, granting a right of
    way over the State forest land, described in the Schedule
    hereto, has been entered into between the said Ian Beverley
    Hopper, Lawrence Gerard King and Olive Stanley King
    as grantees and the Minister of Forests acting for and on
    behalf of Her Majesty the Queen as grantor.

  2. That such agreement may be inspected at the office of the
    Conservator of Forests at Auckland, which agreement and
    the terms and conditions thereof are designated grant of
    easement in respect of right of way, Tairua State Forest.

  3. That a plan defining thereon the said easement is attached to
    such agreement and may be inspected at the above office.

  4. That the date upon which such agreement became effective
    being the date of execution of the agreement is the 2nd
    day of April 1984.

SCHEDULE

All that part of Tairua State Forest, Auckland Conservancy, situated
in Section 4, Block XII, Tairua Survey District, South Auckland
Land District, shown marked A and 1, 2, 3 and 4 on the said plan.

State Forest Land Set Apart as a Dedicated Area—Okarito and Saltwater Sustained Yield Management Areas—Westland Conservancy

PURSUANT to section 15 of the Forests Act 1949 (as amended by
section 2 of the Forests Amendment Act 1973, and amended by
section 5 of the Forests Amendment Act 1976) the Minister of
Forests gives notice that the areas of land described in the Schedule
hereto are hereby set apart and dedicated for the growth,
management and utilisation of indigenous forest produce on the
basis of sustained yield management and shall be known respectively
as the “Okarito Sustained Yield Management Area” and the
“Saltwater Sustained Yield Management Area.”

For the purpose of this notice, “sustained yield management” is
defined as the management of the net productive area of forest to
supply a volume of timber at a rate which can be sustained in
perpetuity as prescribed in the forest management plan for the region
current at any time.

SCHEDULE

WESTLAND LAND DISTRICT—WESTLAND COUNTY—OKARITO SUSTAINED YIELD MANAGEMENT AREA

All that area of State forest situated in Blocks I, V, VI, IX, X, XIII
Whataroa Survey District, Blocks IV, VIII, XI, XII, XV, XVI
Okarito Survey District, being 8342 hectares approximately as shown
on plan I34/4, deposited in the head office of the New Zealand Forest
Service at Wellington.

WESTLAND LAND DISTRICT—WESTLAND COUNTY—SALTWATER SUSTAINED YIELD MANAGEMENT AREA

All that area of State forest situated in Blocks XV, XVI Mount
Oneone Survey District, Blocks II, III, VI, VII, VIII Whataroa
Survey District, being 5040 hectares approximately as shown on
plan I34/5, deposited in the head office of the New Zealand Forest
Service at Wellington.

Dated at Oamaru this 12th day of July 1984.

NOTE: Adjacent to the Okarito Lagoon, a buffer strip of minimum
width of 200 metres of high forest shall be preserved from logging
as endorsed by the White Heron Advisory Committee in 1977.

Cancellation of Vesting of Control of Reserves in the Minister of Tourism and Vesting in the Rotorua District Council

PURSUANT to Section 27 of the Reserves Act 1977, the Minister of
Lands hereby cancels the vesting of the control in the Minister of
Tourism of the reserve classified as recreation reserve as described in
the First Schedule hereto and of the reserve classified as a local
purpose (site for hospital buildings) reserve as described in the
Second Schedule hereto and pursuant to Section 26 of the Reserves
Act 1977, hereby vests the said reserves in the Rotorua District
