Revocation of a Notice Relating to a Reserve and Issue of Fresh Notice

PURSUANT to section 6 (3) of the Reserves Act 1977 and by reason of an error made in the notice hereinafter described, the Minister of Lands hereby revokes the notice revoking the reservation as a reserve for scenic purposes over the Mangaoturu Scenic Reserve, dated 4 March 1983 and published in the New Zealand Gazette of 17 March 1983, No. 34, page 763 and hereby issues the following notice as a fresh notice in its place.

Revocation of the Reservation Over Part Mangaoturu Scenic Reserve

PURSUANT to the Reserves Act 1977, the Minister of Lands hereby revokes the reservation over that part of the scenic reserve, described in the Schedule hereto.

State Forest Land Set Apart as Dedicated Area—Te Kohu Ecological Area—Rotorua Conservancy

PURSUANT to section 15 of the Forests Act 1949 (as inserted by section 2 of the Forests Amendment Act 1973, and amended by section 5 of the Forests Amendment Act 1976), the Minister of Forests hereby gives notice that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart and dedicated for the purposes of protecting and preserving the regionally unique sequence of podocarp and beech forest types and their ecotones which are part of the podocarp dominated Whirinaki ecosystem.

The area so dedicated will be known as the Te Kohu Ecological Area.

PURSUANT to section 15 of the Forests Act 1949 (as inserted by section 2 of the Forests Amendment Act 1973, and amended by section 5 of the Forests Amendment Act 1976), the Minister of Forests hereby gives notice that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart and dedicated for the purposes of protecting and preserving a cross-section of modified and unmodified forest and shrubland types at low altitudes.

The area so dedicated will be known as the Oriuwaka Ecological Area.

The area so dedicated will be known as the Tauranga Basin Ecological Area.
