A PROCLAMATION
PURSUANT to section 63B (1) of the Forests Act 1949 (as substituted by section 19 of the Forests Amendment Act 1976), I, The Right Honourable Sir Ronald Keith Davison, the Administrator of the Government, hereby set apart the State forest land described in the Schedule hereto as State forest park, which shall hereby form part of the Ruahine State Forest Park.

Lakes District Foreshore, Lakeshore, Lakebed, Riverbed, and Waters Control Order 1983

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 20th day of June 1983
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to sections 8A and 165 of the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER
-
Title and commencement—(1) This order may be cited as the Lakes District Foreshore, Lakeshore, Lakebed, Riverbed and Waters Control Order 1983.
(2) This order shall come into force on the 1st day of July 1983. -
Interpretation—In this order—
"The Act" means the Harbours Act 1950:
"Foreshore" means such parts of the bed, shore, or banks of a tidal water as are covered and uncovered by the flow and ebb of the tide at ordinary spring tides:
"Lakes District Waterways Authority" or "Authority" means the committee constituted by clause 3 of this order:
"Lakeshore" means such parts of the bed, shore or banks of a lake as are covered and uncovered by the rise and fall of the level of the surface of the lake water whether caused by natural means or otherwise and includes areas flooded by the waters of the lake. -
Lakes District Waterways Authority constituted—(1) A committee to be known as the Lakes District Waterways Authority is hereby declared to be a public body for the purposes of sections 8A and 165 of the Act.
(2) The committee shall comprise—
(a) Four members appointed by the Lake County Council:
(b) Three members appointed by the Queenstown Borough Council:
(c) One member appointed by the Arrowtown Borough Council:
(d) The Commissioner of Crown Lands or a person appointed by him.
(3) For the purposes of this grant of control the district of the Authority shall be the area specified in the Schedule.

Grant of control—There is hereby granted to the Authority, for a period of 21 years commencing with the 1st day of July 1983 and ending with the 30th day of June 2004, control of the foreshore, lakeshore, lakebed, riverbed, and waters described in the Schedule to this order.

Conditions of grant—The grant of control conferred by clause 4 of this order is subject to the following conditions—
(a) Suitably worded signs shall be erected at main public access ways to the foreshore, lakeshore, lakebed, riverbed, and waters as described in the Schedule to this order indicating that control of them has been granted to the Authority pursuant to sections 8A and 165 of the Act.
(b) The Councils shall contribute to the finances of the Lake District Waterways Authority in a percentage manner as follows:
60 percent to be contributed by the Lake County Council;
32½ percent to be contributed by the Queenstown Borough Council;
7½ percent to be contributed by the Arrowtown Borough Council.
(c) The Authority shall have the powers of a harbour board to borrow money for the purposes of harbour works as provided for in section 49 of the Act (as inserted by section 3(1) of the Harbours Amendment Act 1980).
