PURSUANT to Part VIII of the Public Works Act 1981, the Minister of Works and Development—
(a) Pursuant to section 114, declares the land described in the First Schedule hereto to be road and vested in the Wairewa County Council; and
(b) Pursuant to section 116 declares the part of road described in the Second Schedule hereto to be stopped.
FIRST SCHEDULE
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT
ALL that piece of land containing 2327 square metres, situated in Block VI, Akaroa Survey District: being part Section 35, Kinloch Settlement; as shown marked ‘B’ on S.O. Plan 15817, lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Christchurch.
SECOND SCHEDULE
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT
ALL that piece of road containing 2158 square metres, situated in Block VI, Akaroa Survey District adjoining or passing through Sections 34 and 35, Kinloch Settlement; as shown marked ‘A’ on S.O. Plan 15817, lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Christchurch.

Exemption From the Colour Restriction for Additional Lamps on Heavy Motor Vehicles
NOTICE
PURSUANT to regulation 90 (1) of the Traffic Regulations 1976*, and pursuant to the powers delegated to me by the Secretary for Transport, I, Robert Norman Abram, Chief Automotive Engineer, hereby exempt any heavy motor vehicle referred to in regulation 64 (1) from the requirements of regulation 64 (1) (a), which restricts heavy motor vehicles to the display to the front of lights substantially white in colour, subject to the condition that the light displayed to the front shall be substantially white or amber in colour.

Notice of Approval of Sirens in Terms of the Traffic Regulations 1976
NOTICE
PURSUANT to regulation 88 of the Traffic Regulations 1976*, and pursuant to the powers delegated to me by the Secretary for Transport, I, Trevor Allan Lister, Senior Automotive Engineer, hereby approve for the purpose of regulations 21 (11 (a)), 21 (11 (b)), 24 (3), 69 (3), and 69 (4), of the said regulations SIRENS of the make and type described in the Schedule hereto when fitted to motor cycles used by a traffic officer.
SCHEDULE
SIRENS manufactured by the Clarion Company of Japan and marked with either of the model designations “AH 150U” or “AS 105U”.

The Road Classification (Waipa County) Notice No. 1, 1983
PURSUANT to regulation 3 of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1974*, and pursuant to the powers delegated to me by the Secretary for Transport, I, Carne Maurice Clissold, Chief Traffic Engineer, hereby give the following notice:
NOTICE
- This notice may be cited as the Road Classification (Waipa County) Notice No. 1, 1983.
- The Waipa County Council’s proposed classification of the roads as set out in the Schedule hereto is hereby approved.
- The notice dated the 7th day of July 1980† which relates to the classification of the roads described in the Schedule hereto is hereby revoked.
SCHEDULE
WAIPA COUNTY
Roads Classified in Class Two
Collins Road: from Tuhikaramea–Frankton Road to the Hamilton City boundary.
Ngahinepouri–Rukuhia Road: from Gillards Road to No. 3 State Highway (Hamilton–Woodville via New Plymouth).
O’Regan Road: from Ngahinepouri–Rukuhia Road to Collins Road.
Wallace Road: from Parallel Road to Storey Road.
Roads Classified in Class One
ALL roads under the control of the Waipa County Council not otherwise named in this Schedule.

Exemption of Certain Motor Vehicles From the Height Restriction for Rearward Facing Lamps
NOTICE
PURSUANT to regulation 90 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976*, and pursuant to the powers delegated to me by the Secretary for Transport, I, Glen Liversage, Assistant Chief Automotive Engineer, hereby exempt the motor vehicles described in the Schedule hereto from the requirements of regulations 60 (2) (a), 61 (2) (a), and 63 (2) (a), which limit the height that a rearward facing side lamp, stop lamp and direction indicator lamp may be mounted above the ground, subject to the condition that this equipment shall not be fitted further above the 1.5 metre height restriction imposed by these regulations than is necessary to ensure compliance with all other requirements of the said regulations.
SCHEDULE
Two 1982 Hino model LA540 refuse collection vehicles operated by Bayer Machinery Ltd., and with the following registration and chassis numbers:
