The St Mary's College, Thorndon, Board of Governors Notice
1983

PURSUANT to section 51 of the Education Act 1964, the Minister
of Education gives the following notice:

NOTICE

  1. (a) This notice may be cited as the St Mary's College, Thorndon, Board of Governors Notice 1983.
    (b) This notice shall come into force on 2 March 1983.

  2. The Board of Governors of St. Mary's College, Thorndon, shall
    be constituted as follows:
    (a) One member appointed by the Education Board of the district
    of Wellington;
    (b) One member elected by the teachers of the school;
    (c) Five members elected by the parents of pupils attending the
    school;
    (d) Four members appointed by the proprietor of the school.

New Zealand Apple and Pear Marketing Boardโ€”Determination
of Supplementary Prices for Apples and Pears

In accordance with section 27 (a) 1 of the Apple and Pear
Marketing Act the Board at its meeting held on 23 February 1983
determined that for the 1982/83 season:

(a) A supplementary price for all apples purchased by the Board
from growers during that season of 22.4033 cents per
kilogram.

(b) A supplementary price for all pears purchased by the Board
from growers during the season of 27.0528 cents per
kilogram.

Setting Apart Maori Freehold Land as a Maori Reservation

PURSUANT to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Maori
freehold land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart

common use and benefit of the descendants of the deceased Frank
Harris or Nui Hare or Werahiko Nui Hare.

PURSUANT to section 10 of the Private Schools Conditional
Integration Act 1975, notice is given that integration agreements
have been signed between the Minister of Education and the
proprietors of the following primary schools.

St. Mary's School, Wicksteed Street, Wanganui.


St. Joseph's School, Wren Street, Taihape.

The said schools will enter into the State education system in
accordance with the provisions of the Private Schools Conditional
Integration Act 1975 with effect from 2 March 1983. Copies of the
integration agreements are available for inspection without charge
by any member of the public at the Department of Education, Head
Office, Government Buildings, Lambton Quay, Wellington and at
regional offices.

Notice to Make Returns of Land Under the Land Tax Act 1976

PURSUANT to the Land Tax Act 1976, the Commissioner of Inland
Revenue hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. A return of land held as at noon on 31 March 1983 is required
    from every person and every company, whether a taxpayer or not,
    being the owner of land in New Zealand within the meaning of the
    Land Tax Act 1976, if the total land value of land owned as at
    noon on 31 March 1983 exceeded $175,000 and the land is not of
    any of the classes specified in section 27 of the Land Tax Act 1976.

  2. The principal class of land exempted from land tax under
    section 27 of the Land Tax Act 1976 is land used solely or
    principally for the purposes of any business of:

(a) Animal husbandry (including poultry-keeping, bee-keeping,
and the breeding of horses); or
(b) Growing fruit, vegetables, or other crop-producing plants; or
(c) Horticulture; or
(d) Viticulture.

The exemption in this paragraph does not extend to land used
solely or principally for the purpose of forestry or silviculture.

  1. Land Tax is dealt with by the Masterton office of the
    department, and returns may be sent there or to any district office
    of the Inland Revenue Department, not later than 7 May 1983.

  2. Return forms are available at all district offices of the Inland
    Revenue Department.

  3. Any person or company failing to furnish a return within the
    prescribed time is liable to a fine not exceeding $500.
