Setting Apart Maori Freehold Land as a Maori Reservation

PURSUANT to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Maori
freehold land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart
as a Maori reservation for the purposes of a place of historical and
scenic interest and for the purposes of a recreational ground, sports
ground, bathing place, landing place, fishing ground, burial ground,
the provision of communal agricultural and horticultural pursuits
and the protection of wildlife and for preserving the relationship of
the beneficiaries and their tribal culture and traditions with their
ancestral lands, to be known as Waihaha Papakainga Reservation
and to be for the common use and benefit of the descendants of
Papanui Tamahiki and such other persons who, at the date hereof,
can show title to the lands known as Waihaha No. 3B, No. 2,
Waihaha No. 3C, Waihaha No. 3E, No. 2, and Te Awati Waihaha,
and those from time to time invited by the Reservation Trustees
whether by specific invitation or general licence or otherwise
howsoever.

with the prior written consent of the Minister of Railways hereby

set apart, subject to the Housing Act 1955, for State housing purposes
from and after the 8th day of September 1983.
