Napier, Hastings, Masterton, Blenheim, Nelson, Greymouth, Timaru, Wespert, Oamaru, Balclutha, Gore, Alexandra, or Invercargill—
$1.41 a kilogram.

(b) When sold by a retailer carrying on business elsewhere—
$1.43 a kilogram.

(2) If in respect of any lot of bananas the price calculated in accordance with the foregoing provisions of this clause is not an exact number of cents, the maximum price of the lot shall be computed to the nearest whole cent.

DUTY IMPOSED ON RETAILERS

  1. Every retailer who offers or exposes for sale in any shop any Ecuadorian bananas, to which this special approval applies shall keep in a prominent position, in such proximity to the bananas to which it relates as to be obviously in relation thereto, a ticket, placard, or label on which shall be stated in legible and prominent characters the following particulars:

(a) The retail price a kilogram of the bananas.

(b) The word “Ecuadorian”.

The Water Recreation (Waikato River) Notice 1983, Sweetwaters Management Limited

I, Beryl Ann Ranger, Senior Executive Officer (Harbours and Foreshores), pursuant to the Water Recreation Regulations 1979* and in exercise of powers delegated to me pursuant to sections 8 and 9 of the Ministry of Transport Act 1968, hereby give the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. (a) This notice may be cited as the Water Recreation (Waikato River) Notice 1983.
    (b) This notice shall come into force on 28 January 1983 and shall remain in force until 31 January 1983.

  2. Subject to the conditions set forth in the Second Schedule hereto, pursuant to Regulation 18 of the Water Recreation Regulations 1979, the area of water described in the First Schedule hereto shall be reserved for vessels under the control and management of Sweetwaters Management Limited.

FIRST SCHEDULE

ALL that area of water of the Waikato River as shown marked red on plan M.D. 16096, deposited in the office of the Secretary for Transport at Wellington.

SECOND SCHEDULE

  1. All persons in charge of a vessel shall adhere to and keep the provisions of all other Acts and regulations not specifically exempted by this notice.

  2. A suitable notice as may be approved by the Regional Marine Officer, Ministry of Transport, Auckland, shall be erected at sites deemed necessary by the Regional Marine Officer.

Declaration Under the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1966

———

WHEREAS the Minister of Transport is vested with the power to declare, by notice in the Gazette, that any Order in Council under section 7 of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1966 (as amended by section 4 of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Amendment Act 1977) shall not apply in respect of any specified ship or ships or class or classes of ship, and may in a like manner vary or revoke any such notice, any may make declarations unconditionally or upon or subject to conditions.

And whereas by instrument of delegation dated the 4th day of May 1982, the powers to make such a declaration was delegated to the Secretary for Transport.

Now therefore, I, Arthur John Healy, Secretary for Transport, do hereby make the following declaration.

DECLARATION

THE Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Order 1979 shall have no application in respect of the ships Luminence and Hurunui whilst they are working in the protected area designated Area 10—Cook Strait, as a cable repair vessel and tender to the repair vessel respectively.

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the undersigned Deputy Secretary to the Treasury, acting under powers delegated to the Secretary to the Treasury by the Minister of Finance, hereby consents to the borrowing by the local authorities, mentioned in the Schedule hereto, of the whole or any part of the respective amounts specified in that Schedule.
