teachers employed by the Council, and who shall himself be a teacher employed by the Council;

(a) One member appointed by the Wellington Branch of the Technical Institutes Allied Staff Association (Inc.) to represent the non-teaching staff employed by the Council and who shall himself be employed by the Council;

(o) (i) One member who shall be a student of the Wellington Polytechnic and who shall be appointed by the Wellington Polytechnic Students’ Association for a term of office of 1 year;

(ii) The member appointed pursuant to subparagraph (i) of this paragraph shall hold office from the 1st day of February until the 31st day of January in the subsequent year, and if on that date the appointment of a successor has not been notified to the Council, that member shall continue to hold office until the date on which that appointment is notified;

(p) Four members to be co-opted by the Council itself, if and when it thinks fit.

  1. (1) Subject to the provisions of this clause and the provisions of clauses 3 (k) and 3 (o) (i) of this notice, the members of the Wellington Polytechnic Council shall hold office for a term of 3 years, but may, from time to time, be reappointed or re-elected.

(2) Except in the case of a casual vacancy, or as is provided in clause 3 (k) and (o) (ii) of this notice, every member shall hold office until the 31st day of August in the third year after the year of his appointment or election, and if, on the 31st day of August, the appointment or election of his successor has not been notified to the Council, he shall continue to hold office until the date on which such appointment or election is notified.

(3) If any member dies, or resigns his office by writing under his hand addressed to the Council or the Chairman or the Secretary thereof, or is absent without leave for 3 consecutive meetings of the Council, or while holding office becomes for any reason ineligible to remain a member, the casual vacancy so created shall be filled, as soon as practicable thereafter, by the appointment or election of a member in the manner in which the vacating member was appointed or elected, and the member appointed or elected to fill the vacancy shall hold office for the residue of the term of office of the member whom he replaces.

(4) The powers of the Council shall not be affected by any vacancy in the membership thereof.

Central Institute of Technology Notice 1980, Amendment No. 1

PURSUANT to section 69 of the Education Act 1964, the Minister of Education hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. (a) This notice may be cited as the Central Institute of Technology Notice 1980, Amendment No. 1, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Central Institute of Technology Notice 1980* (hereinafter referred to as the principal notice).

(b) This notice shall come into force on its date of publication in the Gazette.

  1. Clause 3 of the principal notice is hereby amended by deleting paragraph (p) and substituting:

(p) (i) One member who shall be a student of the Central Institute of Technology and who shall be appointed by the Central Institute of Technology Students’ Union for a term of office of 1 year.

(ii) The member appointed pursuant to subparagraph (i) of this paragraph shall hold office from the first day of February

until the 31st day of January in the subsequent year, and if on that date the appointment of a successor has not been notified to the Council, that member shall continue to hold office until the date on which that appointment is notified.

  1. Clause 4 of the principal notice is hereby amended by deleting subclause (3) and substituting:

(3) Except in the case of a casual vacancy, or as is provided in clause 3 (p) (ii) of this notice, every member shall hold office until the 31st day of January in the third year after the year of his appointment or election, and if on that date the appointment or election of his successor has not been notified to the Council, he shall continue to hold office until the date on which the appointment or election is notified.

Determination of the Comptroller of Customs, Section 21, Sales Tax Act

I, Patrick John McKone, hereby give notice that, for the purposes of section 21 of the Sales Tax Act 1974, I have determined that the sale value of the goods enumerated below shall be in accordance with section 21 (2) (d) of the Sales Tax Act 1974.

39 Post Mix Syrups in bulk containers, classified under Tariff Heading 22.02 of the Customs Tariff, for use in post-mix dispensing equipment.

Nothing contained in this notice shall limit the application of any other section of Part IV of the Sales Tax Act 1974.
