Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 4 of the Disabled Persons Employment Promotion Act 1960, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the recommendation of the Minister of Labour made after consultation with the unions, associations, and organisations referred to in section 5 of that Act, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. Title—This order may be cited as the New Zealand Society for the Intellectually Handicapped (Incorporated), Eastern Bay of Plenty Branch Order 1982.

  2. Exemption—The New Zealand Society for the Intellectually Handicapped (Incorporated), Eastern Bay of Plenty Branch, an organisation approved* under the name of the Intellectually Handicapped Children’s Society (Incorporated), Whakatane Branch by the Minister of Labour under section 3 of the Disabled Persons Employment Promotion Act 1960, is hereby granted exemption in respect of its sheltered workshop at 61A Alexander Avenue, Whakatane, from—

(a) All the provisions of every award and agreement that would otherwise apply to persons employed in that workshop; and

(b) The minimum Wage Act 1945, the Holidays Act 1981, and sections 10 (2) (b) and 15 of the Factories and Commercial Premises Act 1981.

  1. Revocation—The Intellectually Handicapped Children’s Society (Incorporated), Whakatane Branch Order 1968† is hereby revoked.

Authorising the Hawke’s Bay Harbour Board to Reclaim Hawke’s Bay Harbour Board Endowment Land at Humber Street, Ahuriri Estuary

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 175 (3) and subject to sections 176 to 182 of the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council hereby authorises the Hawke’s Bay Harbour Board to reclaim an area of 4,600 square metres, more or less, of Hawke’s Bay Harbour Board Endowment Land north of Humber Street, Ahuriri estuary as shown on plan M.D. (c) 553 (S.O. 7671) deposited in the office of the Ministry of Transport at Wellington.

PURSUANT to section 3 of the Ombudsmen Act 1975, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to reappoint Lester John Castle, Esquire, C.M.G., LL.B., as Ombudsman.

Appointment of High Commissioner for New Zealand in Fiji

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council has been pleased to appoint

to be High Commissioner for New Zealand in Fiji under and for the purposes of the Foreign Affairs Act 1943, to hold the said office as on and from the 6th day of June 1982 and ending with the 5th day of June 1985.
