FIRST SCHEDULE

FIRSTLY, all that area of the Hollyford River from its confluence with the Humboldt Creek to the sea, excluding Lake McKerrow, as more particularly shown coloured green on plan MD 16116, deposited in the office of the Ministry of Transport at Wellington.

Secondly, all that area of the Pyke River from its confluence with the Olivine Branch to its confluence with the Hollyford River, excluding Lake Alabaster, as more particularly shown coloured red on plan MD 16116, deposited in the office of the Ministry of Transport at Wellington.

SECOND SCHEDULE

  1. Notwithstanding any other provision of this notice, no person who is permitted by any such provision to propel or navigate a small craft at a speed through the water exceeding 5 knots shall do so in any manner that is likely to endanger or unduly annoy any person who is in, on, or using the waters, or fishing, or undertaking any recreational activity in the vicinity of the small craft.

  2. All persons in charge of a vessel shall adhere to and keep the provisions of all Acts and regulations not specifically exempted by this notice.

  3. A suitable notice as may be approved by the Regional Marine Officer, Ministry of Transport, Christchurch, shall be erected at the sites deemed necessary by the Regional Marine Officer.

Declaration Under the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1966

WHEREAS the Minister of Transport is vested with the power to declare, by notice in the Gazette, that any Order in Council under section 7 of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1966 (as amended by section 4 of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Amendment Act 1977) shall not apply in respect of any specified ship or ships or class or classes of ship, and may in a like manner vary or revoke any such notice, and may make declarations unconditionally or upon or subject to conditions.

And whereas by instruments of delegation dated the 4th day of May 1982 and the 7th day of May 1982, the powers to make such declaration was delegated to the director of marine.

Now therefore, I, Hubert David Maurice Jones, Director of Marine, do hereby make the following declaration.

DECLARATION

THE Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Order 1979 shall have no application in respect of the ship, F.V. Seawyl whilst it is used in the protected area, designated 'Area 10—Cook Strait', as a diving support vessel to allow divers to investigate a gas leak in Cook Strait Cable 1.

Notice of Resolution to Vary Hours of Sale of Liquor at Trust Premises—Invercargill Licensing Trust

PURSUANT to section 35B of the Invercargill Licensing Act 1950, I, John Fraser Robertson, Secretary for Justice, hereby give notice that the Invercargill Licensing Trust on 17 March 1982, resolved to vary the usual hours for the opening and closing for the sale of liquor for its premises known as Friars Liquor Barrel and situated at North Road, Invercargill.

To the intent that on days other than those on which the premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor the hours for the opening and closing of the said premises shall be as follows:

(a) On any Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday—Opening at 9.30 a.m. and closing at 1 p.m. Opening again at 1.30 p.m. and closing at 6 p.m.

(b) On any Thursday—Opening at 9.30 a.m. and closing at 1 p.m. Opening again at 1.30 p.m. and closing at 8.30 p.m.

(c) On any Saturday—Opening at 9 a.m. and closing at 12 noon.

Exemption from Requirements as to Flashing or Revolving Red Lights

PURSUANT to regulation 90 of the Traffic Regulations 1976*, the Secretary for Transport hereby exempts the vehicles described in the Schedule hereto from the requirements of regulation 67 (2) of the said regulations, in that these vehicles may be equipped with one or more revolving lights which display alternate red and amber beams.

SCHEDULE

AMBULANCES operated by the Hawke’s Bay St. John Ambulance Service, and approved by the Ambulance Transport Advisory Board.

Notice of Approval of Alternative Types of Seat Belts for Certain Motor Vehicles

NOTICE

PURSUANT to regulation 78 (1A) of the Traffic Regulations 1976*, the Secretary for Transport hereby approves the fitting in the seating positions specified in the Schedule hereto of the alternative types of seat belts specified in the said Schedule to the vehicles specified in the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE

In respect of Isuzu KAG51 light commercial vehicles three-point lap and diagonal seat belts, not including dual sensitive emergency locking retractors, for an approved type for the use of the driver and the front seat passenger nearest to the left side of the vehicle (or the right side of the vehicle in respect of a left-hand drive vehicle).

Consent to Raising of Loans by Certain Local Authorities

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the under-signed Deputy Secretary to the Treasury, acting under powers delegated to the Secretary to the Treasury by the Minister of Finance, hereby consents to the borrowing by the local authorities, mentioned in the Schedule hereto, of the whole or any part of the respective amounts specified in that Schedule.
