PURSUANT to section 330 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Maori Land Board hereby gives notice as follows:

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as Maori Land Development Notice Whangarei 1982, No. 6.

  2. The land described in the Schedule hereto declared to be subject to Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953.

Environmental Impact Report Notified—Luggate and Queensberry Power Station Proposals

THE Commission for the Environment has received an Environmental Impact Report on the proposed power stations at Luggate and Queensberry on the Upper Clutha River. In accordance with the provisions of the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Procedures, submissions on the Environmental Impact Report are invited. These should reach the Commission no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, 28 June 1982. Written submissions are reproduced in the Commission's audit. It is requested that these be made in dark legible script on A4-sized paper.

  1. Copies of the report are available for inspection as set out in Schedule A below.

  2. Copies of the report may be purchased by presenting $10 at the following locations:

Wellington: Ministry of Works and Development, Vogel Building, Aitken St.
Dunedin: Ministry of Works and Development.
Clyde: Vincent County Council.
Cromwell: Ministry of Works and Development.
Wanaka: Mount Aspiring National Park Headquarters.

SCHEDULE A
LOCATIONS where copies of the Environmental Impact Report may be inspected:

  1. The Commission for the Environment Library.
  2. University libraries.
  3. Major public libraries throughout New Zealand.
  4. Central Otago libraries as follows: Cromwell, Wanaka, Alexandra, Queenstown.
  5. Other Central Otago locations as follows:
    (a) Upper Clutha Power Development Information Office, Cromwell.
    (b) Cromwell Borough Council Office.
    (c) Vincent County Council Office.

The Water Recreation (Wairaurahiri River) Notice 1982

I, Robin Paul Taylor, Senior Executive Officer (Harbours and Foreshores), pursuant to the Water Recreation Regulations 1979*, and in exercise of powers delegated to me pursuant to sections 8 and 9 of the Ministry of Transport Act 1968, hereby give the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. (a) This notice may be cited as the Water Recreation (Wairaurahiri River) Notice 1982.

(b) This notice shall come into force 14 days after its publication in the New Zealand Gazette and shall remain in force until revoked by further notice in the Gazette.

  1. Subject to the conditions set forth in the Second Schedule hereto, regulations 7 (1) (a) and (b), and 7 (2) of the Water Recreation Regulations shall not apply to that area as specified in the First Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE

ALL that area of water of the Wairaurahiri River from its source to the sea, as more particularly shown coloured green on plan M.D. 16114, deposited in the office of the Ministry of Transport at Wellington.

SECOND SCHEDULE

  1. Notwithstanding any other provision of this notice, no person who is permitted by any such provision to propel or navigate a small craft at a speed through the water exceeding 5 knots shall do so in any manner that is likely to endanger or unduly annoy any person who is in, on, or using the waters, or fishing, or undertaking any recreational activity in the vicinity of the small craft.

  2. All persons in charge of a vessel shall adhere to and keep the provisions of all Acts and regulations not specifically exempted by this notice.

  3. A suitable notice as may be approved by the Regional Marine Officer, Ministry of Transport, Christchurch, shall be erected at the sites deemed necessary by the Regional Marine Officer.
