Price Order No. 246 (Steel Products Manufactured by Pacific Steel Ltd.)
PURSUANT to the Commerce Act 1975, I, John Patrick Egan, pursuant to a delegation from the Secretary of Trade and Industry, hereby make the following price order:
PRELIMINARY

This order may be cited as Price Order No. 246 and shall come into force on the 22nd day of April 1982.

(1) Price Order No. 227* is hereby revoked.
(2) The revocation of the said order shall not affect the liability of any person for any offence in relation thereto committed before the coming into force of this order.
- In this order:
The expression “C and F” means “cost and freight”.
APPLICATION OF THIS ORDER
- This order applies to the following steel products manufactured by Pacific Steel Limited:
Hot Rolled Steel Bars
- Rounds
- Squares
- Flats
- Angles
- Channels
MAXIMUM PRICES TO BE CHARGED
- (1) The maximum factory selling prices that may be charged or received by Pacific Steel Ltd. for any steel products to which this order applies shall be the basis price shown in this order, with adjustments in the form of extras as specified hereunder being made as appropriate.
(2) The maximum prices, as aforesaid, are fixed for deliveries as follows:
(a) Within a radius of 65 kilometres of Otahuhu, free on truck at mill.
(b) “C and F” railhead, Whangarei, Hamilton, Rotorua, Tauranga, Gisborne, Napier, Hastings, Palmerston North, New Plymouth, Wanganui, Masterton, Lower Hutt, Wellington, Blenheim, Christchurch and Invercargill.
(c) Landed on wharf or at railhead, where applicable, at Picton, Lyttelton, Timaru, Oamaru, Nelson, Greymouth, Dunedin, and Bluff. (Wharfage to seller’s account.)
(d) For sales to other areas, the approved maximum selling prices may be surcharged with the amount which does not exceed the freight chargeable for transport of steel from the nearest freight paid point mentioned above.
(3) The maximum basis price shall be $625.70 per tonne and shall apply to reinforcing bar made in conformity with New Zealand Standard 3402 P: 1973, grade 275 and angles, channels, flats, squares and rounds made in conformity with British Standard 4360:grade 43A, or 43A1.
(4) The basis price shall cover the following sizes:
Rounds 20 mm diameter and over
Squares 12 mm to 75 mm
Flats } All shapes and sizes not included in 6 (1)
Angles { below.
(5) The basis price shall cover lengths from 5 m to 10 m.
(6) The basis price shall cover orders 4 tonnes and over in one size, thickness or diameter, in one quality to one destination.

Steel supplied in coil form either plain or deformed deduct $4.00 per tonne.
